Age: 5|  Weight: 9-9| J: Tom Marquand| T: J Channon| OR:  85
A dual winner in 2024 who was lightly raced last season, posting his best effort when third at Carlisle (11f) in June, albeit not entirely convincing at the trip. Absent since but returns with yard in good form and booking of Marquand a plus.

Progressive as a 3-y-o (placed in Melrose here) and kicked off last season with a good second at Epsom (1½m) in the spring. Form proved rather up and down thereafter but he returns from 6 months off potentially very well treated and Rossa Ryan a significant booking.

Rather stuttered in handicaps during the second half of last season but form from the spring was strong and having been gelded, made a winning reappearance at Thirsk (1½m, good) 25 days ago. Fancied to hold his own in this more competitive scenario for yard going well.

Took this race from 4 lb higher on last year's reappearance. Winless subsequently but enhanced good record fresh when second at Kempton (1½m) in March. Best not judged too harshly on his latest Lingfield run over shorter and he commands a second look here.

Went the right way in 4 starts in France last year, making it back-to-back wins with success in 2m minor event at Le Mans in October. Ran well when 3 lengths fourth of 7 at Angers when last seen the following month. Makes handicap debut on first run since leaving Christophe Ferland.

A reliable and dual winner in 2025. Yet to fire in 3 quick runs this spring though, weakening over 1f out when tenth in 15-runner handicap at Chester (12.3f) last week. Others more persuasive.

Useful at best for Kevin Ryan (dual course winner) but below that level for current yard, never competitive in first-time hood/tongue tie (retained) at Newbury (1¼m, good) 25 days ago. Needs a return to this venue to have positive effect now.

Doubled his tally on reappearance at Redcar (1¼m) and, up 4 lb, ran to a similar level when second at Doncaster (1½m, good to firm) 11 days ago, finding only one who was slightly better placed off a modest pace too good. No surprise to see him thereabouts again back up in class.

Useful handicapper at his best for Sir Michael Stoute. Without a win when trained by Kevin Ryan last year but ran well following 6 months off/stable switch when second at Musselburgh 31 days ago. Remains feasibly treated on old form if backing that up.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1| J: Jason Hart| T: I Furtado| OR:  77
Winner of a Redcar novice in October. Low-key start on all-weather upon joining this yard but her latest 6½ lengths seventh behind reopposing Minhad at Thirsk (1½m, good) was a step back in the right direction. Needs to build on that now.

Successful twice on turf at up to 1¼m last summer. Ended the campaign with a below par display at Newcastle but he ought to come on for last month's Redcar reappearance. Unexposed at this sort of trip and he ran well on his last visit to the Knavesmire.

Son of Nathaniel who finished placed on all 7 starts for the Gosden stable, unsuited by muddling pace when third on handicap debut at Southwell (1¾m) in January. Changed hands for 65,000 gns after (also had breathing operation) and his mark appeals as a workable one with tongue tie now added.

Progressed again last year and placed on 3 of his 4 starts since returning to action in March, staying on for third at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 16 days ago. Has his first crack at this sort of trip and highly likely he'll give another good account.

Defied an 8 lb higher mark over 2m at Haydock in summer 2024. However, proved inconsistent during a winless 2025, not at best when third at Catterick (1½m, soft) on final outing in October. Possible this first start for 6 months will bring her on.

Enjoyed a remarkable 2025, winning 6 times at up to 1¼m. Picked up where he'd left off when runner up at Musselburgh (9f) in April and whilst he proved disappointing back there last time, his overall record suggests he's a likely candidate to bounce back returned to a longer trip.

Cashed in off much-reduced mark at Pontefract (1½m) on penultimate start and defied a token rise in weights when following up over 1¼m back there 2 weeks ago, responding well to his talented claimer's urgings. This tougher back up in class but respected as an in-form sort.

Ran to a fair level on 2 of his 3 starts in Meydan, albeit never threatening when ninth on handicap/turf debut (1½m, good) 16 months ago. Absent since and market can prove best guide now starting out for new stable.

Verdict

This is wide open and it could pay to take a chance on MASTER BUILDER. He ended last season on a low-key note but his record fresh is good and having fallen back down to a very appealing mark, he's of interest with Rossa Ryan an eye-catching booking. Mafting has started the season in fine form and is an obvious threat. Thirsk scorer Minhad, last year's winner Great Bedwyn and Military Cross are others fancied to feature.
