Best effort in two starts to date came when finishing sixth in a maiden over this trip at Wolverhampton at the start of this month. Likely more needed if he's to make a winning turf debut.

Unraced Markaz gelding purchased for 50,000 gns at the sales as a yearling last October. Half-brother to the useful Fox Power among others and market support would be notable on debut.

Shaped as if he'd improve for the experience when finishing third in a 7f novice race at Newbury (good) when making his debut last month. Likely to play a leading role on this occasion.
Unraced Buratino gelding and a half-sister to multiple winner Acertwo. Late foal and interesting to see how he performs on his first racecourse appearance.

Held on both starts so far including over an extended 5f at Bath (good-to-firm) in first time cheekpieces (retained) last time out. Probably best watched at present.
Unraced daughter of The Gurkha out of an unraced half-sister to Group 3 winning sprinter THe Happy Prince. One to note for a stable who can boast a 27% strike-rate (3/11) with their juveniles on turf this campaign.

Verdict

PAWS FOR THOUGHT ran well when third on debut and he can get off the mark at the second time of asking by taking this big field maiden event. The selection is likely to have improved for that experience and he can see off Sun Festival who can claim second spot having filled the same position on debut last time while third can go the way of Coul Queen who has run well on both previous starts.
  1. Paws For Thought
  2. Sun Festival
  3. Coul Queen
