C&D winner on his penultimate start here off a 3lb lower mark having previously shown some reasonable form on the surface. Disappointed last time out here over the same trip and hard to know what to expect this time around with headgear back on.
Seen here plenty of time and does have a C&D win to his name off a much higher mark. Doubtful if he's capable of that same form now though but does figure off a career low mark and showed plenty of speed at Lingfield last time out.
Was in good form last year winning on four occasions but has so far failed to sparkle this year. Even off this mark he looks to have a bit to prove at present especially over this trip.
Still to win a race and hasn't really shown much in five handicap tries so far the last two at this course. Recent run here over 5f didn't show any more than his reappearance and if anything the trip looked too sharp.
Strong traveller who comes from a yard in good form and is a course winner over 6f. Capable of winning at this trip but often looks as though he has more to deliver than he actually does and his finishing effort can be very weak.
Stable has made a good start to the Flat turf season but he remains a maiden and didn't really impress on his recent Catterick outing over 6f.
Looked to be steadily running into form at the end of last year when with his previous yard. Yet to run on this surface and can travel strongly and an interesting contender.
In good form last year when winning three times on the AW all over 5f. Made his Fibresand debut on his penultimate start but looked to make hard work of it and certainly failed to fire here last time out.
Placed just once from eight starts at this track and hard to say that the surface really suits him. Took advantage of a fall in the weights to win over 5f at Chelmsford and showed he was still in good form at Catterick last time out. Definite chance on form although there are doubts about the surface based on past efforts.
Forecasts
Borough Boy (11/4), Powerful Wind (5/1), Ryedale Rio (5/1), Silver Bid (13/2), Culloden (15/2), Jacob's Pillow (8/1), Novabridge (8/1), Coiste Bodhar (25/1), Jazz Legend (33/1)
Borough Boy really ought to be able to win another race off this mark but his finishing effort leaves a question mark. Jazz Legend would be one to note if there was some interest in the market while Culloden and Jacob’s Pillow are sure to have their supporters. Off a career low mark this may well be the time to support POWERFUL WIND who still has plenty of dash in him judged on his Lingfield run last time out.
- Powerful Wind
- Jazz Legend
- Borough Boy
