Ran well when third of 13 at Newbury over 7f 55 days ago. Fourth of 10 in handicap over 7f at Lingfield (5/1) 15 days ago, coming from a long way back. Mark falling despite shaping well lately and may come good down in class.

Well placed to win twice on turf in August 2025 before finishing 11th of 12 at Wolverhampton (20/1) 24 days ago after doing too much too soon returned to AW. Better than he showed there but likely to have company for the lead here.

Won a 7f handicap at Newbury in August. Strong in betting on stable debut, finished 4th of 12 in a handicap at Wolverhampton (15/8 favourite) 24 days ago, breaking awkwardly from stalls and unable to lead. In the mix if first-time eyeshields have desired effect.

Showed useful form at 7f on AW in autumn, including a third and fourth. Best forgiven latest 12th of 14 at Kempton (8/1) 71 days ago when behind poorly drawn/place winner Society Man. Worth another chance eased another 1 lb.

Won twice on turf before finishing 4th of 21 in handicap at Doncaster (25/1) 40 days ago when slowly into stride but stayed on. Generally performs best when held up and could be seen to good effect in strongly run race back on all-weather.

On a handy mark and backed into favourite (7/4) when finished 6th at Kempton after being held up in slow race. Should perform better with stronger pace here.

Back on song to win at Kempton (20/1) 57 days ago but failed to build on that when 8th of 10 in a handicap at the same course (12/1) 17 days ago. Inconsistent performer and remains to be seen if he's on a going day.

Forecasts

Uncle Don (11/4), Calyxoh (9/2), Eminency (6/1), United Approach (6/1), Tennessee Gold (17/2), Ararat (9/1), Grabajabba (11/1), Brunel Nation (16/1), This Farh (18/1), Bell Shot (22/1), How Impressive (25/1), Riot (50/1)

Verdict

UNCLE DON has been threatening to come good recently, shaping well from a long way back at Lingfield 15 days ago. His mark continues to edge down and this could be a good opportunity for him to strike. United Approach is consistent on the all-weather and should appreciate a stronger pace than he got at Kempton recently. Eminency is another to consider having stayed on well at Doncaster last time, along with Tennessee Gold who is likely in better heart than recent form figures suggest.
