Etretat¹⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Archie Young⁽⁵⁾| T: C Johnston| OR: 70| CD

18/1

C&D winner in January. 14/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 10 days ago. Back up in trip and while stall 11 isn't ideal, he would have an each-way chance if back to his best.

Form: 2-13868

Prince Rasam^h²²⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: K Shoemark| T: M L W Bell| OR: 70| D

4/1

Lightly-raced winner. Sixth of 8 in handicap (7/1) at Kempton (12f) when last seen 7 months ago. Bit to prove but, on the upside, the handicapper has given him a chance and the refitting of the hood may help (performed with credit sole previous run in this headgear).

Form: 1/8556-

(3)

Obsidian Knight²⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 9-8| J: Brandon Wilkie⁽³⁾| T: T Kent| OR: 69| CD

9/1

Three-time C&D winner, the latest in November. Sixth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 5/1) 24 days ago. That run can be overlooked (stuck wide throughout from a high draw) and claims judged on his good second here on penultimate start.

Form: 416-926

(9)

Foreseen¹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Jack Doughty⁽³⁾| T: A W Carroll| OR: 69

12/1

First run since leaving Adam West when ninth of 13 in handicap (100/1) at Kempton (8f) 19 days ago. Back up in trip and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Form: 9582-09

(2)

Ellexis^p1²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 9-8| J: Lewis Edmunds| T: R A Teal| OR: 69| CD

18/1

C&D winner in January. 9/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces now given a whirl and she could have a say if the new headgear has the desired effect.

Form: 000-217

(7)

Risen Again^b1,h²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: K T O'Neill| T: Alice Haynes| OR: 66

9/1

15/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f) 20 days ago, better placed than most. Blinkers now tried and he looks vulnerable from a win point of view.

Form: 366-355

(5)

Imperial Cult¹⁴³

Age: 6| Weight: 9-4| J: Gina Mangan| T: R Cook & J Bridger| OR: 65| C| D

10/1

Course winner. Three wins from 14 runs last year. Latest win at Epsom in September. 8/1, respectable third of 14 in handicap at Newmarket (9f, good to soft) on final 2024 appearance. Place possibilities if fully tuned-up.

Form: 281983-

(8)

Crafter²⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 9-4| J: J Mitchell| T: D M Loughnane| OR: 65| CD

16/5

Form: 12-8442

(4)

Newfangled¹⁵⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: Rob Hornby| T: J G Portman| OR: 64| BF| CD

11/2

C&D winner. Three wins from 10 runs last year, the latest at Wolverhampton in September. 11/4, good second of 11 in handicap back at that course (9.5f) when last seen 150 days ago. Needs considering.

Form: 312112-

(10)

Coolree^t¹¹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-3| J: Frederick Larson| T: Lemos Souza| OR: 64

25/1

22/1, first run since leaving Amy Murphy when fifth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 11 days ago. Back up in trip and others are more persuasive.

Form: 44936-5

(6)

Molly Valentine^p⁷⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 8-12| J: R Havlin| T: D K Ivory| OR: 59| C

12/1

Form: 64551-9

Forecasts

Crafter (16/5), Prince Rasam (4/1), Newfangled (11/2), Obsidian Knight (9/1), Risen Again (9/1), Imperial Cult (10/1), Foreseen (12/1), Molly Valentine (12/1), Etretat (18/1), Ellexis (18/1), Coolree (25/1)

A chance is taken on PRINCE RASAM, who clearly didn't stay 1½m at Kempton on his most recent appearance in July and had previously shaped well in a first-time hood (refitted here) at Wolverhampton where he wasn't beaten far in a decent handicap off a mark 7 lb higher than he'll be racing off here. Newfangled steps up to 0-70 company for the first time but he looks solid and is feared most ahead of respected C&D winners Crafter and Obsidian Knight.
