Fairly useful handicapper, below form this year at up to 7f often taking a strong hold. Yet to run here, rather run off his feet at Bath last time (same could happen here), well below his last winning mark but not in the form to exploit a lower mark.
Won his last two starts in a similar scenario (held up off an overly strong pace) winning by an impressive 7.5L last time at Salisbury. Looks an improved/more mature model as a 5yo, has to prove himself off a 12lb higher mark in a better grade.
Has the look of one who is bubbling under at the moment, shown some promise last two starts 5f/6f. Went with lots of zest over 6f last time (5f may be more his trip), yet to win a handicap but can't be ruled out of this off a fair mark.
Stable going well with their sprinters, this one confirmed the promise of his previous run over 5f when scoring over that trip at Pontefract off 4lb lower. Form of his previous starts looks strong, will be suited by the return to 6f, respected.
One of three from this yard, looks to be coming to the boil (only one to come from off the pace last time to challenge Meraas, well fancied for Stewards Cup) at Hamilton (6f, good). Yet to win a handicap (lightly-raced), one to note off same mark.
Already a winner this year, took a Newmarket 6f handicap on return (first win away from Pontefract in almost three years) off 2lb lower. Not in the same form last time (consistency not a strong point), would have something to prove here.
Having a good time of late having proved himself on turf (won his last two starts, 6f, on the surface), taken four races in all this year. C&D winner (first turf victory) his turf mark still looks fair (lower than on AW), not a forlorn hope.
Had an excellent 2019, won three times including the Ayr Bronze Cup (6f, good/firm) off a 2lb lower mark (form worked out well). Not really got going this year (stable took a while to fire also), run in three tough contests, this looks easier.
Three-time winner last year, all at 5f (has won at 6f), returned in rude health running like many from his yard with plenty of enthusiasm. Twice runner-up of late only just caught last time by a far younger rival, could well get involved up in trip.
Course winner over 5f he's continued the good work he showed for his previous yard around the turn of the year in Ireland (on AW) since joining this stable. Gained another deserved win last time at Sandown (5.1f), won with a little in hand, stays 6f.
In good form on the AW over sprint trips (3-3 at Wolverhampton), still looking open to progress on turf. Failed to follow up his last AW win but would have excuses for both defeats (caught too far back last time), worth including in calculations.
One of two 3yo's in the field, only success came in 6f Hamilton maiden as a 2yo (second start), still striving for a handicap success after seven attempts. Went backwards from reappearance last time (second run back from wind op), limited appeal.
C&D winner last year (off 9lb lower mark), capable of producing a decent run despite not being one for maximum faith. Narrowly touched off by Treacherous over C&D in June, ran into an improver last time, not certain to reproduce that form.
Took advantage of a career-low mark when scoring at Musselburgh (5f, good) gaining his first win for 18 months. Not in the same form last time at Pontefract (5f, good), stays 6f but best form at the minimum trip, others more persuasive.
Plummeting down the handicap and far from the force he once was (8lb below last winning mark), continued his dismal start to the season last time at York (6f, good) beat only two home. On a long losing sequence, not one to set the pulse racing here.
2-1-3 in this race, won this in 2018 off a 9lb higher mark, third last year off 6lb higher. Down to a good mark, stepped forward from reappearance at Ayr (7.2f) last time (second to progressive type), hard to ignore given his record in this race.

Rewaayat (3/1), Tommy G (5/1), Call Me Ginger (11/2), Treacherous (7/1), Saluti (12/1), Batchelor Boy (14/1), North Wind (16/1), Music Society (16/1), May Remain (20/1), Spirited Guest (20/1), Dream Today (22/1), The Lamplighter (22/1), One Hart (25/1), Secretinthepark (33/1), Primo's Comet (33/1), Dark Shot (40/1), Highly Sprung (50/1)
No surprise that this is a tough handicap to solve but the 2018 winner TOMMY G could well have been readied for a crack at regaining his crown having also finished second and third in this event, he looks on a decent mark. His half-brother Call Me Ginger could also play a part along with the fast-improving Rewaayat who has been raised 12lb for his Salisbury romp last time. Treacherous still looks to have scope in handicapping terms on turf with Bachelor Boy the best of the two 3yo’s having looked rather unfortunate on his last two starts. Saluti back over 6f for his in-form sprinting stable and May Remain are two others to consider.
- Tommy G
- Rewaayat
- Batchelor Boy
