Italian Listed winner last term over extended 7f then flopped in French Group 3 final start last term on heavy ground. First start since and is equipped with blinkers for the first time so open to improvement.
Second and third in Listed 7f events last summer. Well beaten first try at 1m in Britannia Handicap at Ascot recently and has to prove he can stay the trip at this level. Questions to answer.
Ran 10 times as a juvenile, winning three at 6f and placing second in 6f Group 3 Sirenia Stakes. Fifth on reappearance in Sandown 7f handicap but trip may stretch stamina to the limit especially if lit up by first-time blinkers.
3-3 winning twice over 6f last term here and at Kempton then comfortably winning over 7f on handicap bow at Kempton last November. Could be more to come and gives impression he should stay extra 1f off just 4lb higher.
Justified favouritism last season in Beverley extended 7f maiden and Ayr 1m nursery. Gelded during winter and ran too freely first start back when fourth of 5 over 1m2f at Newbury. Back in trip and eased 1lb so is not out of it.
Yet to win in four starts but has gone close each of his last three including when finished well enough into half-length third at Newcastle 7f on seasonal return. Raised 2lb but yard going well and every chance he'll be in the thick of the fight.
Won modest Brighton 7f race last season but done well enough this term in fourth over 7f at Newcastle on first start back then rallying into 6th of 22 in the Britannia Handicap over 1m. Runs off same mark but a place may be best he can achieve.
Seemed to appreciate soft ground when off the mark at seventh attempt at York 1m in October. Appeared not to last home over 1m3f on first run since the break and drops back in trip now with first-time cheekpieces added.

Forecasts
Overwrite (11/5), Surf Dancer (11/4), Dance Fever (4/1), Jean Baptiste (9/2), Tell Me All (11/2), Sword Beach (15/2), Sun Power (12/1), Oh Purple Reign (14/1), Festive Star (16/1)
In a tight-knit affair SURF DANCER gets the nod having run well until hampered inside the final furlong at Sandown on his comeback. The extra furlong may also bring about further improvement. The unbeaten Dance Fever is feared as we don't know quite how good he could be. There is every chance he will go close to maintaining his perfect record. Jean Baptiste went close first start back at Newcastle and again has to be considered, along with Tell Me All who should do better back at this mile trip.
