Several placed efforts to his name; might have been in need of the run when fifth of nine at Southwell (5f) two starts back and stepped forward to be a 2L second here (5f) last time. Drops into 0-55 for the first time and shouldn't be far away.
Won off 4lb lower at Kempton (6f) in October and, after three moderate efforts, bounced back with a narrow defeat at Lingfield (6f) 14 days ago. Her form is inconsistent and whilst she may be involved again, she's hard to trust.
Ended a long losing run when at Lingfield (6f) 14 days ago, winning cosily by 1L. Still extremely well-handicapped on his old form and, whilst he isn't the force of old, a similar effort will see him in the mix under Luke Morris once more.
Lost his way for Julia Brooke but backed into joint-favouritism on stable debut and duly annihilated his rivals by 3¾ here (5f) last week. A 5lb penalty still puts him 6lb well-in and he has won over this trip before. Should be hard to beat.
Would have a squeak on his runs at Doncaster, Lingfield and Wolverhampton (all 6f) in 2019 and has reasonable excuses for defeat the last twice (outclassed/surface). Could outrun his odds if showing his true colours.
Back on the same mark as his sole career victory, which came over C&D in December 2018. Shaped better when denied a clear run at Wolverhampton (6f) two runs ago but ran poorly at Kempton (7f) last time and needs to bounce back again.
Won twice in the autumn but hasn't been in the same form in her five runs since. Beaten 5½L into fifth over C&D last time after not getting a clear run and a case can be made now back below her last winning mark.
10-time winner down the years but only one victory in his last 33 outings. Starting out for a new yard after a five-month break but well into the veteran stage and is worth opposing unless there is market positivity.
Won early in her career at Wolverhampton (6f) but has generally been on the downgrade since then. Her 2¼L fourth at Lingfield (6f) last time was one of her better efforts but given her inconsistency, it's hard to be enthusiastic about her chance.
Awarded a race over C&D last season, and several creditable efforts in a mixed card since. Ran a better race in first-time blinkers here (5f) last week but was still easily brushed aside by Jorvik Prince and he will struggle to reverse the form.
18-race maiden whose only bright spot in his last eight starts came when fourth over C&D in December, beaten 1¾L. Races from 5lb out of the handicap and faces a tough task to break his duck.
Forecasts
Jorvik Prince (11/10), Distant Applause (5/1), Under Curfew (7/1), Invisible Storm (8/1), Englishman (12/1), Ghost Buy (12/1), Indian Affair (14/1), Mercers (14/1), Kyllukey (25/1), Wild Flower (33/1), Sing Bertie (50/1)
JORVIK PRINCE bounced back to form with a vengeance on debut for Mick Appleby here last week with an impressive victory and will be tough to beat, even under his 5lb penalty. The veteran Englishman also returned to winning ways comfortably recently and shouldn't be far away whilst Ghost Buy has excuses for his last two defeats and has shown enough to warrant an each-way shout.
- Jorvik Prince
- Englishman
- Ghost Buy
