Hasn't progressed as hoped after landing informative juvenile handicap at Newbury (7f, good to soft) but wasn't disgraced when fifth of 13 on AW debut at Kempton earlier this month. Dropped 2lb in handicap but needs to drop further in the weights.

Unexposed filly who shed her maiden tag in novice contest at Redcar (7f, good to firm) on seasonal return. No reason why she cannot progress further on handicap debut.

Four-race maiden who produced career best when second at Haydock (1m, good to firm) last month. Appreciated the trip that day and has scope for improvement for powerful yard. Dangerous to dismiss.

Regally bred filly who showed plenty of promise in her first two starts as a juvenile before bombing out when 11th of 12 1m Chelmsford novice in December. Too keen that day and wears first-time hood today. Claims but needs to settle.

Three-race maiden who returned to some sort of form when third of eight in 7f Wolverhampton novice contest in June. Hood remains on for her handicap debut but looks to be the stable's second string.

Winner over this trip when landing Chelmsford maiden in November and has been highly tried in four starts since. Never landed a blow when seventh of nine at Musselburgh (7f, good to soft) and has plenty to prove now.

Hasn't progressed since good second over the extended 7f at Beverley three starts ago and has been down the field in handicaps at Leicester and Doncaster (7f, good to firm) recently. Dropped 2lb but others have more pressing claims.

Ran well on seasonal reappearance behind Royal Hunt Cup winner Biometric in 7f Salisbury novice before an encouraging eighth in hot York handicap at the Dante meeting. Claims but needs to bounce back from disappointing Haydock effort.

Only an Epsom handicap victory to show from eight starts but has ran creditably in two starts this season, including when second at Brighton (1m, good to firm) last time out. Dangerous to dismiss.

Landed a Wolverhampton novice impressively two starts ago before finishing a creditably fourth on handicap debut (1m, standard) at Chelmsford. Took a keen hold that day but will appreciate the step down in trip. Each-way claims.

Off the mark at fifth attempt in weak Lingfield maiden (7f, good to firm) on seasonal debut and showed good handicap form when fourth at Doncaster (7f, good to soft) last October. 1lb above that handicap mark but can't be ruled out.

Lightly raced maiden who has shown some promise in two starts this season, most recently when fourth at Longchamp twelve days ago. Capable of improving but others have better claims.

Relatively exposed colt and returned to form with a good second at Sandown (7f, soft) on his latest start. Up 2lb for that effort but likely to be vulnerable to less exposed horses. Stable's second string.

Forecasts

Make A Wish (3/1), Dirty Rascal (4/1), Jaleel (15/2), Jadeerah (8/1), Majestic Mac (9/1), Gentlewoman (10/1), Jilbaab (10/1), Bullington Boy (12/1), Heroic (14/1), Songkran (20/1), Battle Of Waterloo (22/1), Facethepuckout (25/1), Azor Ahai (33/1)

Verdict

A host of unexposed horses line up for this contest, but HEROIC is the one to beat courtesy of his strong handicap form as a two-year-old and after a confidence-boosting victory at Lingfield last time out, looks like he has more to offer. Make A Wish has to encounter a weight burden, but put in a solid performance at Redcar and has scope for improvement, while Jaleel could be dangerous dropping back down in trip from his last start.
  1. Heroic
  2. Make A Wish
  3. Jaleel
