Nowhere near good enough the last twice both at this course and at Thirsk. However, did run well over C&D in February when runner-up. Given a 45 day break and has each-way prospects if putting latest disappointment behind him.

Never won on the AW but ran well here when half-length second two starts ago. Flopped since then when seventh of seven, again at this track, 26 days ago. Place claims if able to put that behind him.

AW form superior to what he usually produces on turf, as was demonstrated by his no-show at Leicester (6f; good to firm) last month. Previously enjoying a good spell on AW. Makes fibresand debut today and is a big player.

Ran quite well on only visit to this track. Must do more on the basis of previous efforts but this is his first run in a Class 5 since finishing a head-second at Brighton (6f; good to firm) last year.

C&D winner who was a head second at Nottingham (6f; soft) most recently. Likes it here and a reproduction of that effort is likely to run see him run another big race.

Still fairly unexposed. Having first run of his season tonight. Non-stayer on final start last year at Chelmsford (7f; standard). Hard to be enthusiastic about his prospects though.

Formerly with Gavin Cromwell, has done well since switching stables and sent off favourite the last twice (4-1f & 3-1f). Off the same mark as when runner-up at Newcastle 28 days ago and may be able to gain a first career win for over a year.

Irish runner for trainer who does fairly well when sending runners across to this country. Finished off his campaign last season with a woeful effort when last at Navan (5f; yielding). Two low-key efforts in both runs this season too. AW debut.

Steps up to 6f after running okay for a long way until headed at Beverley (5f; good to soft) on seasonal reappearance. That probably his best run since switching to this stable.

Had looked progressive when winning at Wolverhampton (5f; standard) just before Christmas. Actually looks the opposite of that now and his latest ninth of 11 leaves him with a lot to do.

Been in excellent form on the AW since taking a 20-runner handicap at the Ayr Gold Cup meeting. Hasn't won since then, but has been far from running badly either. Drops down to 6f from 7f and stables horses are running well.

Good effort last time when runner-up at Pontefract (5f; good to firm) in a better grade contest. Been running well since the turn of the year including a win and three seconds at this course. Chance if none the worse for the quick turnaround.

Verdict

It won't be long before Gunmaker finally wins a race for his new yard. He has produced some really encouraging runs of late and his runner-up effort at Newcastle was probably his best run since joining Ruth Carr. Liamba looks set to run another solid race and finish in the money once again. She should have no problems with the step back down to 6f (neck-second over C&D in February). However, this looks an ideal opportunity for KRAKA to regain the winning thread. His recent run at Leicester can be forgiven and he was in good form over 6F on the AW prior to that disappointment.
