Hasn't shown much benefit for wind surgery just yet, but is dropped in grade now and should be suited by this 5f trip (raced over further latest); poorly drawn.
Undeniably well handicapped off this kind of mark and ideally suited by 5f on good to firm ground; finished well from off the pace over 6f here last week after meeting trouble in running.
Can pack a potent late punch in his races, so ideally suited by a strongly run race. 5f on Tapeta at Newcastle is his optimum conditions nowadays, but one to write off at your peril in-running if the cards fall his way.
Kept solely to the AW since August 2017, winning readily from a 7lb lower mark at Newcastle in September (5f); seems to have no issues with Thirsk (runner up here in the past), but likely to need this race.
Turf maiden (0 from 6), but has recorded a pair of wins on Tapeta at Newcastle (5f-6f), so does possess ability. However, finished a well beaten last of eleven over 6f here last week.
In-form mare who has maintained her progress since finishing a never nearer ½L second to Pearl Noir (Groundworker third) over C&D last month; up 5lb after finishing a well held second to Eeh Bah Gum at Beverley latest (5f).
Six-race maiden who hasn't made much of an impact in handicap company thus far (5f); falling in the weights but poorly drawn.
Not the easiest to win with (last couple of wins on the AW at Newcastle), but is a force to be reckoned with when able to lie up handy behind a strong early pace; well drawn and holds a solid chance.
Once rated in the mid 80's but struggled for previous trainer Kevin Ryan and yet to really pick up the baton for Ruth Carr (£10,000 purchase in September 2017). Has shown early pace lately, but not quite getting home.
16-race maiden who probably missed her winning chance on the AW over the winter. Furthermore, her two second placed efforts during the month of May were gained in selling company.
Not able to get competitive on handicap debut at at Catterick (6f good) earlier this month and whilst not wholly exposed after just four career starts, equally doesn't appear to be strong enough.
Nine race maiden who shaped a fair bit better when beaten 1L at Nottingham last week (5f good); the third placed horse Spot Lite has won since. Holds a chance, but no more from her favourable high draw.

Laughton (3/1), Kingstreet Lady (9/2), Groundworker (5/1), Optimickstickhill (8/1), Windforpower (9/1), Sienna Says (10/1), Kibaar (12/1), Cuppacoco (14/1), Shesthedream (14/1), Canford Bay (16/1), Dangerous Lady (20/1), Dundunah (33/1), The Hoppings (50/1)
As always on quick ground at Thirsk, a high draw near the stands side rail is essential. There should be no shortage of early pace with the under-performing Kibaar, and last week's Nottingham second Optimickstickhill both likely to set a good gallop. Those who should profit late as a result include Laughton and Windforpower, but the exasperating GROUNDWORKER is drawn nearer to that early pace in stall 10, and this looks primed to be his day for a first turf success since July 2015.
- Groundworker
- Laughton
- Kingstreet Lady
