Has some experience of Fibresand and may well be happier back on it with the cheekpieces worn last time now left off. Probably needs to settle better in his races but not out of this off his lowest mark yet.
Went off a very short-priced favourite when again finishing runner-up last time out over 6f. Previously ran well against a progressive sort who has since completed a hat-trick and now steps up to a mile for the first time.
Could be forgiven a poor run over C&D last time when slow away and caught in plenty of kickback (ran in snatches). Better judged on her earlier second over C&D (also a course winner) and looks potentially well handicapped still.
Cheekpieces go on for the first time for his third run on Fibresand having not really shown that much on the previous two. Mark has now dropped for his third try over C&D to a career low but others still appeal more.
Below-par on Tapeta last time a return to this surface will be welcomed as she scored her sole victory here over this trip. She made all on that occasion in what looked to be a weak race and could face pace pressure here off a 5lb higher mark.
Well held in maidens/nursery for her previous yard she now makes her stable/Fibresand debut after a lengthy absence. Handicapper has given her a chance (dropped 7lb) but has to prove herself on this unique surface.
From a yard that does well here he's been handed some tough tasks in minor events and makes his handicap debut. Always likely to be seen to better effect in events like this the jockey booking catches the eye on Fibresand debut (cheekpieces go on).
Bred to be far more effective on this surface than he's shown so far although he did make more impact last time out. The form remains modest though and he looks a hard ride (run lazily) and more needed to be of interest.
Forecasts
Gleaming Sun (7/4), Feel The Wrath (9/4), Amity Island (5/1), Political Slot (8/1), Powerful Society (16/1), Street Sensation (20/1), Ipcress File (25/1), Gallant Girl (50/1)
Only a fairly low-grade start to the card but an interesting race nonetheless with Feel The Wrath worth watching in the market with his connections although his sire has a poor record on Fibresand. Political Slot should enjoy herself back on Fibresand over a C&D she has twice run well over but could face some pace pressure and Gleaming Sun if he handles the step-up from 6f would be more of a danger. Irish challenger Gallant Girl is another worth keeping an eye on for a market move but in the hope that POWERFUL SOCIETY gets away on terms this time she’s the selection. Things didn’t go to plan last time but on her previous form here she still looks well handicapped.
- Powerful Society
- Feel The Wrath
- Gleaming Sun
