Ran well to finish fourth in a Group 3 over 1m1f at York (good) in August but well held in competitive handicaps the last three times, including last month at Leicester attempting this trip for the first time.
Just the five runs this year on the Flat, landing a decent 1m6f Goodwood handicap in May in second of those. Solid second to Dance The Dream at Leicester 12 day ago, should toss his hat into the ring again.
Dual winner in France and scored for this yard over this sort of trip on AW at Wolverhampton in March. Second over hurdles at Plumpton last month on return from a break, others preferred in competitive line-up.
Third in Chester Cup over much longer trip early in the season and 2m Listed winner in France over the summer, two most recent efforts have been dire and best watched at this point.
Produced a career-best when winning a 1m4f handicap off 98 at Leicester recently (got first run on Top Tug). Still looks to be progressing and has a chance here of landing this prize despite going up in class.
Dual purpose performer with four wins and five placed efforts (in France) on Flat from just 14 starts. Drops in trip and sports first-time cheekpieces after couple of less than inspiring efforts back on the Flat last month, not discounted.
Produced a career-best when landing a valuable 1m2f handicap at York (good) in August but not produced anything as good in three runs since. Questions to be answered.
Capable performer whose career record reads 4-17, very best efforts this year have been on the AW, but nothing wrong with last time out third at Newbury over 1m4f on good ground, beat just 2L in class 2 handicap.
Has acquitted himself well in some high-end handicaps this season, notably at York (1m, good to soft) in July and Newmarket (1m1f, good to soft) in September. Tackles new trip here but will have a say if seeing race out.
Winner over this trip at Hamilton in May, mostly held form since (disappointing over shorter trip in big field Newmarket handicap in September) but still 3lb above previous winning mark and opposable.
Improving with his racing this year and best effort to date on debut for this yard at Newmarket in September (1m4f, good to soft) when beaten 3L behind Torcello having been forced to make up plenty ground. In the mix now.
Largely consistent since joining this stable in June and won over 1m4f (good to soft) at Haydock in August. Will need everything to fall perfectly off current rating in this competitive heat.
Has twice scored over hurdles in recent months and not disgraced back on the Flat in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last month. Potentially going to find this trip sharper than ideal now.
Group 3 scorer over 7f last season, best effort of this term came last time out at York when stepped up to 1m2½f. First-time cheekpieces worn there are discarded now but remains an interesting contender over this extra yardage.
Shamardal gelding has landed four wins already this term and has the stamina for this trip but may just find the handicapper has taken control of his destiny in a field of this nature.
Lightly-raced Danehill Dancer gelding, eye-catching effort last month on return from a layoff when close third over 1m2f on soft ground at Newbury. Could mount a bold bid if able to step forward on that effort.
Winner over this trip at Ascot in July off a mark of 88 on good to soft ground. Hasn't done a lot wrong in subsequent outings off higher marks and now edging back to within 3lb of previous winning mark.
Dubawi colt won his first two starts in slowly run contests at Windsor and Haydock, quickening nicely in testing ground for the second of those (1m4f). Small-field tactical affair at Newbury last time didn't work out, can bounce back.
In good form over the summer in three starts for this yard without scoring, stepped up into this class in September at Haydock and unable to land a telling blow. Has work to do on that showing.
Benefited from a fine ride in the Shergar Cup at Ascot and followed up with a good third behind Magic Circle at York in August (both over 2m). Well held in Cesarewitch last time but not ruled coming right back down in trip.
Filly has made rapid progress this season after joining this yard, racking up a four-timer that culminated in class 2 Haydock win over 1m6f in September on heavy going. Capable off this rating if putting previous Nottingham run behind her.
Sir Percy gelding in flying form this season, scoring at Sandown (1m6f, good to firm) on debut for this yard in June. Last month's tame show over this trip in soft ground at Goodwood tempers enthusiasm.
Impressive winner at Chester in June (1m2½f, soft) and again ran well there when last spotted in September. Held here over 1m2f in August on good ground in this grade however and again may just struggle again with this jump in class.
Forecasts
Royal Line (5/1), Saunter (6/1), Towerlands Park (9/1), Dance The Dream (10/1), Top Tug (12/1), Euchen Glen (12/1), Syphax (14/1), Wild Hacked (16/1), Al Destoor (16/1), Niblawi (16/1), Machine Learner (16/1), Cohesion (16/1), Chelsea Lad (20/1), Gawdawpalin (25/1), Sepal (25/1), Sir Chauvelin (25/1), Eddystone Rock (33/1), Minotaur (33/1), Azari (33/1), Mirsaale (40/1), Fun Mac (50/1), Master The World (50/1), Storm King (66/1)
A typically competitive renewal, there are plenty in with sound claims. Near the bottom of the weights, Machine Learner and the filly Sepal could run big races on their best form this season, though both have forgettable races to put behind them. Saunter has been getting better with his racing this year and could be capable of big run, having been left with too much to do last time in finishing second at Newmarket on debut for this stable. Dance The Dream, Top Tug and Wild Hacked all have their merits but Royal Line and TOWERLANDS PARK might be the two worth focusing on. The former was unbeaten prior to going down in a three-runner tactical Newbury contest and can bounce back but Michael Bell's charge ran well at Newbury recently off a layoff and, after just five starts, is open to doing significantly better still now stepped up to a trip that may bring out the best in him.
