Shown gradual improvement since returning from 14 months off in December and was fourth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (66/1) 17 days ago, running creditably given he was hampered under 2f out. Still seeking first win in 21 starts. First-time blinkers applied

Well-travelled gelding without a win in 37 starts but ran better than for a while when fourth of 9 at this course over 6f (4/1) a fortnight ago, back in headgear with the strong pace bringing him into it late on. Likely to be sticking at it.

Modest performer who won at Newcastle last September and similar form when third at Southwell in January, shaping well despite missing the break. Sixth of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (3/1 fav) 13 days ago, wasn't at the same level, slowly into stride and faded final furlong.

Forecasts

Mintana (9/4), Dequinto (5/1), My Boy Jack (5/1), Embarked (13/2), Legendsoftheland (12/1), Buttercross Flyer (12/1), Woodrafff (12/1), Tootsie (14/1), Oldbury Lad (16/1), Marisitta (16/1), The Cola Brasil (25/1)

Verdict

MINTANA got back on track when second here a fortnight ago and a repeat of that may well suffice returned to 7f. Woodrafff is inconsistent but shaped better at Southwell in January on his penultimate start and is a threat on that run. My Boy Jack ran better than for a while when fourth here last time back in headgear and could improve for the step up in trip.
