In good form recently, winning a 7f handicap at Catterick (11/2) 17 days ago and that looks solid form for the grade. Has two previous course and distance wins to his name but handicap mark higher than it's been for a while now.

Won at Southwell in February off 1 lb higher and is generally better on AW so it bodes well that he's been running well on turf, fourth of 10 in a handicap at Doncaster (28/1) 19 days ago, meeting trouble in the closing stages when holding every chance. Interesting back on the AW off a handy mark.

Seventh of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (11/1) 19 days ago after awkward start, never involved. Remains fairly low mileage for one in this company and first-time visor could help on return to AW where previous best efforts have come.

Promising effort at York earlier the season when shaping much better than the result. Feature more prominently in the market but disappointed faced with a softer surface when 7th of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (8f) at 10/3 28 days ago. Well-treated and may be worth another chance back on the AW.

Had fallen to a career-low mark when running best race of this season to finish runner-up in a 7f Chester handicap in June. Bit to free to see out his race when finishing fifth of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (4/1) 48 days ago. Remains capable off this sort of mark if things fall right.

Completed a hat-trick at Carlisle (6.9f) in May but finished sixth of 10 in handicap at this course and distance (16/1) 34 days ago, fading late after making the running. Current mark appears to have his measure.

Won a Carlisle handicap off a career-low mark in July, since fourth of 14 in AW handicap at Southwell (14/1) 10 days ago when running prominently but no extra late. Cheekpieces removed for step up to 7f and will need to settle better if he's to see out the longer trip.

Can be slowly away but no such issue last time finishing 2nd of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (12/1) 9 days ago, a season-best effort. Down to a good mark and this could be run to suit. No surprise to see him the mix if getting away on terms.

Had been holding his form well, fourth over C&D prior to finishing last of 6 in handicap at Beverley (9/1) 22 days ago, producing a rare below-par effort. May bounce back but isn't the easiest to win with.

C&D winner was successful over 7f at Wolverhampton (AW) in June and had remained in form prior to losing all chance when completely missing the break at Catterick in July. Headgear removed on first run after wind surgery and can still be competitive off this mark if getting the breaks from stall 14.

Showed good form in January with a close second in handicap at Newcastle and third over C&D but hasn't fired since a break, eighth of 10 here (16/1) 34 days ago. Handicapper has given him a chance though and booking of Jamie Spencer catches the eye in a race with plenty of pace on.

Runner-up over C&D last month and put a disappointing run behind him with a respectable fifth of 9 in 7f handicap at Ffos Las (28/1) 13 days ago, leading until 2f out. Not ruled out back down to his last winning mark.

Consistent performer at this track with previous C&D win and not disgraced when 5th of 10 here beaten under 2 lengths 34 days ago. Well held at Catterick (16/1) 17 days ago, racing wide throughout and best not judged on that run. Not one to write off from a falling mark despite his advancing years.

Verdict

In a tight handicap with plenty of pace on, it could be worth siding with PROFITMAN who has been given a chance by the handicapper following a couple of lesser efforts and may well get back on track with Jamie Spencer taking over in the saddle. Cliffcake saves his best for the all-weather and arrives on the back of two respectable turf efforts, he's feared most off a handy mark, while Stockpyle remains well-treated on his best form and could be worth another chance back on the all-weather.
