Course winner had the run of the race when 4th at Doncaster (14/1) in June but last of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (18/1) 24 days ago, racing freely and never dangerous. Still on a mark he can be competitive from back on the all-weather.

Best efforts over this trip on AW including when 4th of 9 in 7f handicap at Lingfield (4/1) last August. Finished 6th of 10 in handicap at Epsom (13/2) 22 days ago, not quite staying the 8.5f trip. Blinkers refitted and drop back to 7f on AW looks ideal. Solid claims.

Won three turf handicaps in succession before form dipped, finishing eighth of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (12/1) 22 days ago with visor. Visor now removed on just his second all-weather start, but still has work to do from this mark.

Has finished second three times this season, including most recent start in a 9-runner handicap at Thirsk (7/2) 30 days ago. Previous course winner and often runs his race in this grade. Should be in the mix.

In fine form for most of the autumn and winter on the all-weather, runner-up in 10-runner handicap at Southwell (13/2) 210 days ago. Market may guide expectations on return from an absence.

Has run respectably in recent handicaps, short of room when 5th of 9 at Haydock (10/1) over 8f 14 days ago, shaped as if back in form. Makes some appeal back down to her last winning mark.

Had good form over the winter with a win and several close efforts, but finished 10th of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford (16/1) 31 days ago after long break. May leave that run behind returned to Southwell where he's previously ran well.

Consistent performer in recent starts including third of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (16/1) 8 days ago. Likely to appreciate return to the AW surface but veteran may find a couple too good once again.

Won a 7f handicap in May then fifth of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (17/2) 28 days ago, faring best of those who raced prominently. Can remain competitive back on the all-weather.

Consistent AW performer with a C&D win, finished sixth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (18/1) 30 days ago when shaping as if better for the run after a break. Veteran is back down to his last winning mark but that came in a lower grade,

Forecasts

Mayo County (11/4), Leap Day (7/2), Rockstar Icon (9/2), Vibrato (6/1), Biplane (10/1), Harbour Vision (12/1), Rwenearlytheredad (16/1), Mercurius Power (16/1), Profitman (16/1), Reputation (28/1)

Verdict

ROCKSTAR ICON didn't quite stay 9f at Epsom but dropping back to 7f on the all-weather with blinkers reapplied looks ideal. He's preferred to Leap Day who has finished second three times in his last five runs and is a previous course winner. Of the rest, Mayo County bounced back to form on turf last time and should be competitive returning to the all-weather, while Biplane makes some appeal back down to her last winning mark.
