Debut winner who improved further to resume winning ways on handicap debut at Newcastle (10.2f) in October, relishing the 2f longer trip. Off since but still appeals as the type to go on improving upped further in distance.

Eked out a bit more progress to bag a fifth win of the year in 4-runner handicap (7/2) at Newmarket (12f, good to firm) 12 days ago, battling well. He's likeable and should give another good account.

Posted a career best when fourth of 11 in handicap at Chester (12.3f, good, 20/1) 26 days ago, despite making his effort earlier than ideal. Needs considering from 2 lb lower.

Gained reward for his consistency when winning 5-runner handicap (11/8) at Wolverhampton (14f) in July. Ran to a similar level when fourth in a deeper race at Doncaster last week.

Resumed winning ways over 2f longer trip at Leicester (11.8f) in April. However, below form both starts since, weakening quickly once headed at Windsor last time. Returns from a small break with something to prove. Tongue strap on.

C&D winner in May. Not at his best at Ascot last time but wasn't in a great position to react when the leader kicked on and is better judged on previous form.

Fairly useful performer who ran poorly at Newbury on his reappearance in April but has since landed a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter.

Promising individual who made it 2 from 2 at this track when drawing clear in good style in 6-runner C&D handicap 19 days ago, well on top finish. Hiked up 8 lb but that might not be enough to prevent the follow up with better still to come.

Plumpton maiden hurdle winner in May and followed up in 1m Newbury handicap last month, staying on to lead dying strides. Turned in another respectable effort at Sandown (10f) last week, despite being left with too much to do, and ought to remain competitive.

Took another big step forward to open account in 5-runner maiden at Chelmsford City (10f) 30 days ago, plenty in hand. Further improvement on the cards now handicapping off lenient-looking mark.

Landed a 1m AW novice at Kempton back in November 2020 for Sir Michael Stoute. Has yet to add to his tally but ran respectably from an easing mark in a first-time visor when third at Ripon (9.8f, good) recently. Back up in trip.

Won over this 10f at Pontefract in April. His form has been a bit mixed since, but he wasn't disgraced back up in trip when second in 4-runner event at Leicester (11.8f) 22 days ago, for all he took an age to get going. Left on same mark.

Followed a good run with a below-par one when eighth of 9 in handicap (16/1) at Southwell (11.1f) 13 days ago. Has work to do.

NEANDRA drew clear in the manner of one going places over C&D 19 days ago, so she's expected to defy an 8 lb rise and follow up. Storm Castle looks another 3-y-o to keep on the right side of now going handicapping from a potentially lenient mark, while the returning Purple Ribbon is also unexposed and completes the shortlist.
