Former Queen Anne winner and smart effort when fifth in that race last year. Below par in 3 subsequent starts in 2020, though, and no easy task under clear top weight on return after wind surgery.
Latest win at Chantilly (1m) in December but no more than respectable efforts this year, including fourth of 5 in AW handicap latest.
Finally landed the big pot he deserved in International at Ascot (7f, good to firm) last July. Unable to reproduce that back there in the autumn but he does have a solid record when fresh. Had wind op
Posted two useful efforts in good handicaps to end 2020 but he proved disappointing in first-time cheekpieces on return when fifteenth in Lincoln at Doncaster. Visor back on now.
Winner of both starts at 2 yrs, but failed to make an impact in 4 runs last year, including on course handicap debut when last seen in October (gelded since). Cheekpieces on first time.
Useful handicapper who had a very productive 2020 but has a question to answer now after a very disappointing reappearance run at Chester last week.
Progressed well to land 7f handicaps at Newmarket and Ayr at end of last summer. Not disgraced when midfield in the Lincoln on return in March but needs to shrug off a poor run at Chester last week.
Career best when landing an 11-runner handicap at Kempton (1m) on reappearance last month. Confirmed he's returned better than ever this year when runner-up at Windsor 12 days ago.
Three wins from 11 runs last year, the final success coming over 1m at Ascot in September. Competitive off higher marks than this on AW at the end of 2020 and contender if ready to roll after break.
Pair of wins as a 2-y-o in 2019. Only seen twice since but his third of 16 over 9f at Meydan in February shows that plenty of ability remains. Interesting runner.
Useful in France and landed short odds in AW novice on yard debut in February. Better effort in handicaps since when length third of 9 over 1m at Ascot last month, faring best of those held up.
Bagged the rail and made all in a 1m handicap Newmarket handicap last month. Possibly found a fifth run in just over a month catching up with him when down the field there

Forecasts
Path Of Thunder (5/2), King Ottokar (10/3), Blue Mist (8/1), Plantadream (11/1), Kenzai Warrior (12/1), Ascension (14/1), Vintager (14/1), Fantasy Believer (14/1), Repertoire (16/1), Overwrite (18/1), Accidental Agent (25/1), Alternative Fact (25/1)
A smart handicap to conclude. BLUE MIST has a good record fresh so he gets the nod to make a successful return from wind surgery under Ryan Moore, who is 2-2 on him. The low-mileage Path of Thunder and John Best's Plantadream may give him most to do but it is a contest where a case can be made for quite a few.

- PATH OF THUNDER (IRE)
