Suited by this unusual C&D, winning last June and runner-up next time. Out of sorts so far this year, but could bounce back in race where the stalls aren't in use.
Won over this trip on turf at Lingfield last September, and just touched off there on return,. Not disgraced at Chepstow last time, and can't be ruled out with conditions ideal.
Third on soft ground at Bath in October, but below that form since to varying degrees. May have needed the run after a break at Newbury last time, but others more persuasive.
Still a maiden, and yard is going through a very quiet patch. Ran poorly back on turf at Chepstow last month, and percentage call is to oppose again.
Improved when runner-up on handicap debut at Kempton in October, and far from discredited under less than ideal circumstances when fifth of 12 to High Wells in handicap at Sandown on his return. Cheekpieces tried now, and he's one to take seriously.
Improved markedly on 2-y-o form since stepped up in trip/switching to handicaps this year, winning at Windsor and over 1¼m here. Better again when second at Beverley last time, and shapes as though he may improve again at this trip. Big chance.
Best effort to date when staying on for second on handicap debut over 1½m at Kempton. Unsuited by drop in trip at Sandown last time, but ran poorly even so, and may prove best on AW surfaces.
Proving consistent in handicaps this summer, and runner-up on three of her last four starts at up to 2m1f. Should give her running, but has no secrets from the handicapper.
Has been running with credit on AW this season, and on a fair mark having been dropped for a luckless run last time, but he has disappointed on fast turf before, and that is a worry again.
Still chasing elusive first career success after 19 starts, and while she's generally not disgraced off her basement mark, she will likely have to wait a bit longer to taste victory.
Forecasts
By Jove (15/8), Single (5/1), Spring Run (7/1), Life Matters (7/1), Luck Of Clover (10/1), Master Milliner (10/1), Master Grey (11/1), Sinndarella (18/1), Adams Park (18/1), Percy's Prince (22/1)
The nature if the track here means that stalls can't be used at this trip, and that seems to suit MASTER GREY, who is a dual C&D winner. It's worth ignoring his modest recent efforts now back here, and he's just preferred at likely prices to the progressive By Jove, whose claims are rather more obvious. Master Milliner shaped pretty well on his return at Sandown, and should be all the better for that outing, and completes the shortlist.
- Master Grey
- By Jove
- Master Milliner
