Came good in heavy ground at Lingfield back in November but has thrown in three very moderate efforts since then, including over hurdles last time; handles heavy well, but still 3lb higher than last win, and has questions to answer.

Only 1lb higher than her last win, which came at Newton Abbot last April (good ground); poor effort at Wetherby last time and connections now try a tongue-tie to remedy things; this ground a big worry as well (win came on good).

Generally consistent and in the frame on three of his last four starts, only just denied at Chepstow last time, a run that earns him a 2lb nudge up the weights; handles heavy and simply more reliable than many of these, so has to be considered.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-6| J: James Davies| T: R Rowe| OR:  104
10/1
Hasn't been seen out since completing a brace of wins back in 2018, so fitness has to be a concern, but was improving then and connections surely wouldn't be persevering unless it was worthwhile; this ground a concern all the same.

Tudors Treasure26
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: T J O'Brien| T: R Stephens| OR:  101| CD
3/1
Twice a winner in the spring of last year and has remained in good form since then, in the frame twice in his last three starts; probably at the top end of his mark but handles heavy, trip fine and he should run his race.
6

Arcade Attraction19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: Conor Ring(3)| T: Evan Williams| OR:  100
12/1
Going nowhere fast at present and his fast-falling mark only reflects this; again showed little when well beaten at Leicester last time and hard to make much of a case for at present.
7

Triple Chiefp62
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: Bryony Frost| T: J D Frost| OR:  97| CD
11/2
C&D winner if you go back far enough and his form figures demonstrate his consistency, not out of the first four in his last nine starts; will probably lead these a fair way, but this ground a major worry, with best form on quicker.

Forecasts

On The Road (15/8), Tudors Treasure (3/1), Ballybough Nora (4/1), Triple Chief (11/2), Celma Des Bois (10/1), Arcade Attraction (12/1), Parlour Maid (22/1)

Verdict

Triple Chief and Tudor's Treasure are likely to give this a go from the front but they are likely to set it up for something to come from off the pace, and the reliable ON THE ROAD looks most likely to take advantage. He is suited by conditions, comes here in good form and looks sure to be thereabouts. Parlour Maid is capable of upsetting the applecart if she's on a going day, and Celma Des Bois has a big absence to overcome, but can't be discounted.
  1. On The Road
  2. Tudors Treasure
  3. Parlour Maid
