Won for the fourth time on Fibresand when finding extra to edge out Puchita over 6f here a fortnight ago; equally effective at the minimum trip (has previous form with Final Legacy); may go close to scoring again from a 3lb higher mark.
Dual C&D winner; below-par since finishing second to Young Tiger here in October; easing in the weights and has been given a short break (55 days) since his last appearance; will he return fresh and reinvigorated as a result?
Veteran of 66 races (11 wins); often moody in recent times but certainly capable of having a say from an easing handicap mark; offered promise for the future when a nearest at the finish fourth (Final Legacy second) over C&D a fortnight ago.
Broke her duck at the tenth attempt when scoring over C&D (Gorgeous General third) earlier this month; was beaten a nose by Piazon (Red Invader a keeping on fourth) here just five days later; sits another 2lb higher in the weights today.
Underwhelming since taking a minor event (match) at Lingfield (6f) last March; has folded tamely after forcing the early pace on his last couple of visits to this track (6f); faces a stiff task from out of the handicap proper.
Was returning to action for the first time since October 2018 when finishing seventh of ten to Final Legacy (Gorgeous General third) over C&D just under three weeks ago; it's difficult to envisage a scenario where he can reverse those placings.
Forecasts
Gorgeous General (15/8), Final Legacy (5/2), Arzaak (3/1), Red Invader (6/1), Champagne Mondays (33/1), Bungle Billy (33/1)
The in-form horses in the line-up are the recent course winners Final Legacy and Gorgeous General. The former had the measure of the latter (a 6f winner since) when breaking her career duck here 19 days ago. However, at the projected odds it's worth chancing that RED INVADER can reverse his recent form line (February 12th) with the Derek Shaw-trained filly. The selection is a winner of 11 races (from 66 starts), and from a reduced handicap mark (56) could be poised to strike for the first time since May 2019. A strong early pace would almost certainly play to his strengths.
