Has been mostly consistent in his five runs to date, including when fifth on his handicap debut at Nottingham (1m2f, heavy) last month. That was for amateur riders and with Kieran Shoemark now in the plate, has to be respected.

Six-time winner (6f-1m4f) who was claimed from Brian Ellison after finishing second at Wolverhampton (1m1½f) 19 days ago. Last handicap win was 18 months ago off 7lb higher and has fair claims if putting his best foot forward.

No great shakes for the Gosden yard on the Flat, and after two poor hurdling runs, he joined this stable. Didn't run too badly at Southwell two starts ago but was beaten 16L there last time and doesn't look particularly well handicapped.

Showed improved form in the Spring, winning at Yarmouth and Nottingham (both 1m2f). Not disgraced in defeat twice afterwards and returns here from a 140-day break. Won over C&D this time last year and the market will likely prove the best guide.

Five-time Flat winner (1m-1m4f) and placed three times this year over hurdles. Well beaten in three runs for this yard, including over an inadequate 7f the last twice. This is more suitable but hard to be enthusiastic on recent evidence.

Beaten on his last three runs (two hurdles, one Flat), including by 65L at Wincanton (1m7½f) last time. Won over C&D 12 months ago off 10lb lower in first-time cheekpieces. First-time visored added now and interesting if there's any market support.

Ran some fair races earlier in the year and has won over this C&D in the past too. Has returned from a break with poor efforts, mostly recently finishing eleventh of 16, beaten 12½L over C&D two weeks ago. Needs to return to his best.

Up 3lb for a narrow defeat at Lingfield 19 days ago and ran well there over this trip three runs back as well. Seems to be suited these conditions. Only had the nine starts and had shown enough to warrant consideration.

Broke her maiden at Wolverhampton (1m1½f) two runs back before bettering than beaten just ½L attempting to follow-up at Lingfield (1m2f). Is steadily improving and with that solid recent form, is firmly on the shortlist.

Ran one of his best races when fourth at Kempton (1m) two starts ago but couldn't repeat that over C&D last time. Placed only once in 13 starts under all codes and isn't one to rely upon for all he has shown flashes of ability.

Dual AW winner for Mark Johnston last Winter, he was sold for 22,000 gns in July. Made his debut for this yard 19 days ago at Wolverhampton (7f) and was beaten 9L, finishing ninth. 16/1 shot that day and best watched now up three furlongs in trip.

Sole AW win came at Dundalk in 2017. Has been out of sorts in all four starts for this trainer and can't be supported with any confidence at present unless the market speaks positively.

€240,000 yearling whose dam was a Listed/Group 3 winner. Beaten increasingly wide-margins in three starts (1m2f-1m4f) for Sir Michael Stoute earlier this year, she has now moved yards and has had a wind-op ahead of this handicap debut.

Got off the mark over C&D three starts ago, winning well by 2½L. Up 6lb as a result, he hasn't quite matched that form in two starts since and may find life tough again having been dropped just 1lb.

Verdict

After getting off the mark two runs back, CANASTA, bettered that form in defeat shortly afterwards and still seems to be improving. Noble Fox has ran well on both his AW starts over this trip and can make his presence felt again whilst Don't Jump George hasn't done too much wrong to date and this is only his second handicap start.
