15:20 Chester Sat 28 September 2019
Dual course winner, including over this trip (June 2018); 4lb higher than when beating Archie Perkins by 1¼L at Beverley (1m2f, good to soft) in August; came up short when competing in a Class 3 here subsequently; trainer saddles three runners.
Class 2 C&D winner (good) from a mark of 95 in May 2018; relatively highly tried this season, but also a little underwhelming; the handicapper is giving him every chance (easing); stablemate of Gossip Column and Central City.
Has enjoyed a positive 3yo season, rattling off a hat-trick of 1m wins during May and June (Class 3-5); placed on each of his last two starts (at Pontefract and Carlisle); a career best is required on first attempt at 1m2f; soft ground is fine.
Career Chester form figures read 1712; 5lb higher than when beating the Ian Williams-trained Heart Of Soul by an emphatic 2½L over C&D in August (Class 4, good to soft); narrowly beaten by today's rival Involved subsequently; 3lb better off.
Lightly-raced (just six starts); gelded prior to making a winning turf debut over C&D a fortnight ago, beating today's rival Scofflaw by ¾L; 5lb higher (3lb worse off); should strip fitter for that run, and can confirm those placings.
Made a winning return to turf action at Doncaster (1m2f, good) in March; mixed fortunes since; going on at the finish (from rear) when 6½L seventh of 13 to today's rivals Involved and Scofflaw over C&D latest; one of three for Ian Williams.
Six-race maiden; runner-up at Beverley (1m2f maiden) in June for Sir Michael Stoute; 0-2 since joining Phil Kirby for £20,000; steadily easing in the weights, yet is considered an unlikely candidate.
