Has had four runs now, well held fourth in a nursery over C&D (good to firm) last month and must step up significantly on that effort to get in the month.

Gelded and hooded for the first time when respectable fifth of nine in nursery at Newbury (7f, good) this month. Has a bit of improvement to find on that evidence to score here.

Popped up at 14-1 on handicap bow at Pontefract last month, only just denied under penalty at Nottingham and another sound run since at Catterick. Continues to edge up in ratings, but should run his race.

Good efforts on first two starts before perhaps finding quick ground a problem at Beverley (5f, good to firm) in June. Given a short break and ran well on return at Hamilton (6f, good to soft) this month. More to come up in trip.

Won Redcar 6f novice auction stakes in May but hasn't managed a challenge in handicaps at Catterick and Newmarket most recently. Up in trip and eased in the ratings, remains early days.

A half-brother to 5f/6f winner Melonade, he's not done enough in three runs to merit support here and didn't appear to handle soft going at York recently.

62,000 gns Breeze-Up purchase, has gone off big prices in all three novice/maiden starts so far and not threatened. Starts life in handicap on a modest mark as such and no major surprise to see improvement forthcoming.

Breck's Selection30
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: F Norton| T: C & M Johnston| OR:  68
20/1
€18,000 gelded son of War Command, twice been supported in betting for maidens at Wolverhampton (AW) and Musselburgh (good) over 7f, but not seeing his races out. Had shown promise on debut and worth a second look now sent handicapping.

Ebony Adams13
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: R Winston| T: B J Meehan| OR:  66| BF

Got up late to win over 6f on handicap debut at Nottingham last month, perhaps didn't see out the mile on softer going at Thirsk (favourite) since. Down in trip and not harshly judged on that previous run.

Constanzia5
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: David Egan| T: J A Osborne| OR:  66

Broke her maiden at the third attempt at Chelmsford (6f) on the AW in June and again went well (second) there over 7f this month. Fair run in Class 2 Newmarket handicap (7f, good) nine days ago given 33-1 SP; gets a marked class-drop here.

Cityscape colt, twice finished third in 6f nurseries at Ripon and Nottingham (both good to soft) and very likely can give a good account now back over 7f here.

Five-race maiden has already tried a variety of trips/tactics without really looking like winning. Fair run last time on handicap bow at Nottingham (1m½f, soft) from front and could offer more eased 3lb down in distance.

Sepoy gelding, well held in three qualifying runs and yet to start at less than 66-1. Blinkers are tried for this handicap debut and needs a large chunk of improvement.

Cable Bay gelding, never able to get competitive on handicap debut at Pontefract (6f, good to firm) in first-time blinkers (retained). Needs fair deal of improvement.

Forecasts

Zingaro Boy (4/1), Little Ted (5/1), Diva Rock (6/1), Yarrow Gate (6/1), Ambyfaeirvine (8/1), London Calling (10/1), Constanzia (11/1), Bella Brazil (12/1), Outtake (14/1), We Owen A Dragon (16/1), Ebony Adams (20/1), Breck's Selection (20/1), Richard R H B (25/1), Just Norman (50/1), Van Dijk (50/1)

Verdict

Diva Rock can likely take a fair step forward on handicap bow and any money coming would be noted while Zingaro Boy is also respected back on turf for handicap bow. Ambyfaeirvine has become consistent and should go well alongside Ebony Adams. It has proved costly following Breck's Selection, will his supporters keep the faith now. CONSTANZIA ran well in a stronger race at Newmarket last time and could have further improvement to come dropped into this grade, ensuring she looks competitive.
  1. Constanzia
  2. Ambyfaeirvine
  3. Ebony Adams
