Won first two races on AW last winter but gone eight since without success and yet to place in seven on turf. Mark keeps falling but hard to fancy nevertheless.

Seasonal reappearance when distant ninth of 10 at Ripon could have been forgiven but modest seventh of 11 at Haydock less so since. Mark is sliding but not shown she's ready to take advantage.

Wears a first-time hood today after racing too keenly on stable debut last month. Novice form for Ed Walker not without promise so there is something to work with for new connections.

1m4f AW scorer for Charlie Hills but changed stables twice since and ran very poorly on debut for this yard latest. Can do better in time but recent form disconcerting.

C&D winner off mark of 72 last season (75 here) and not disgraced in three starts since joining this yard. In a race lacking strength in depth he looks to have place prospects.

Salisbury novice winner on debut 12 months ago has failed to kick on. Goes up in trip now in search of extra required after struggling so far since sent handicapping; needs to improve for it.

Has been in good form over hurdles this winter and ran pretty well first time back on the level over this trip before looking a non-stayer latest at 2m. Could play his part here now having fallen below last winning mark.

Built on promise of final novice start to win Handicap debut at Musselburgh (1m4f) and almost followed up next at Hamilton (1m3f) despite a 7lb rise. Up a further 3lb for that near miss but clearly progressive so has strong claims here.

1m2f Beverley winner last season narrowly touched off over that distance at Pontefract latest. Tackles 1m4f for the first time here and mixed messages as to whether she will stay; certainly can go close if she does.

Certainly fallen to a handy mark no after form tailed off last season but never got involved again on return at Thirsk so remains a risky proposition until hinting at a revival.

Arrives in terrific form seeking his four-timer after scoring at Pontefract, Beverley and Newcastle. Up 6lb on latest relatively narrow win but make no mistake he was worth way more than the official distance so should go close again.

Hurdles career never really took off and pulled up at Hexham most recently. Better chance on earlier flat form however as a dual winner although not convinced by his merits here.

Now at an attractive mark based on fairly consistent form last summer (lost way later). Never nearer over 1m2f on return and that hinted he can soon do better back over this trip so can't easily be dismissed.

Forecasts

Makawee (3/1), Mapped (13/2), Archive (13/2), Ideal Candy (7/1), Armed (15/2), Appointed (8/1), Framley Garth (9/1), Perfect Illusion (10/1), Ingleby Hollow (14/1), Ad Libitum (18/1), Tamreer (25/1), Breathable (25/1), Near Kettering (50/1)

Verdict

Progressive four-year-old MAKAWEE can continue her ascent and end Archives win streak at four with that one surely now getting close to being back at the handicapper's mercy. Breathable ran well over shorter on return and back at 1m4f he ought to also make his presence felt.
