Verdict

The 2019 Flat season at Thirsk commences with eight-races and over 100 declared runners, with the 5f maiden for juveniles being divided. The combination of a high draw and previous racecourse experience should stand the Karl Burke-trained WAR OF CLANS in excellent stead, so he rates as the tentative choice ahead of the intriguing newcomer Road Rage. Others of interest with seemingly less favourable low draws include the fellow debutantes Il Maestro (John Quinn) and Kidda (Richard Fahey).
