Won a class 6 handicap at Chepstow last May but has endured mixed fortunes since then; AW form not so inspiring and yet to win on an artificial surface. Others make more appeal this time.
Likes a good test of stamina and goes well at this course despite her best form being posted at Southwell. Up 6lb for a comfortable win on fibresand last time but solid place claims back here.
Yet to win at this trip but ran with promise over C&D latest and can go close if using that as a platform to better things. Does need to improve and is still a maiden on the AW.
C&D winner in November and also enjoyed success over hurdles since. Has a 4lb higher mark to contend with this time but have more offer. Worth monitoring in the betting.
Well held in both starts since returning from a break/wind surgery. Finished adrift of The Detainee latest and has work to do in his bid to reverse the form.
Has won on the AW and turf courses at Lingfield but yet to conclusively prove he's as effective on the Polytrack here. Dropped 3lb since his latest run so feasible chance if adapting to the surface.
Has a course win to his name and also victorious on his only previous attempt at a 2m trip. Dropped 1lb since his latest run will appreciate the return to this distance. Solid chance and worth considering.
A regular at this course and has snippets of form which give the mare solid place claims at least. Holding her form well but never won from a mark this high before.
Gone close in a couple of classified stakes recently but is 0-24 and has been expensive to follow. Also needs to prove her stamina over this trip.
A modest maiden under both codes and would be a surprise if the gelding were to prove good enough this time around.
Forecasts
Unblinking (3/1), True Destiny (7/2), The Detainee (5/1), Bird For Life (6/1), Regal Gait (6/1), River Dart (8/1), Banta Bay (16/1), Katie Gale (20/1), Dltripleseven (40/1), Demophon (50/1)
The return to racing over 2m can be expected to suit True Destiny and, as he's also proven on the surface, the Roger Charlton-trained gelding gets the nod in a modest finale. Unblinking is another that has shown a liking for the Polytrack and he is forwarded as the main threat to the selection; followed closely by Katie Gale and Dltripleseven, who are both capable of going close if they handle the nature of the surface.
- True Destiny
- Unblinking
- Katie Gale
