Nursery newcomer, whose best performance to date came in a 5f Sandown maiden in September. Initial mark looks tough enough. Improvement needed.

Scored on Tapeta at Wolverhampton (5f) in August, when 5lb lower. Well held from 1lb lower at Chelmsford last time. May do better for the return to this surface, and will need to.

Scored on his third start for this trainer earlier in the month over 6f. Up 3lb for that, and back in trip, but looks capable of giving another good account.

Bought for £6,000 after finishing fourth in a Ripon seller in August, when with Karl Burke. Retains cheekpieces for debut for this stable, and drops 2lb. More needed.

Improved steadily in novice events at big prices. Has experience around here and is interesting from this mark on her nursery debut. Market check advised.

Has improved with each run so far, without getting involved in the thick of it. Makes nursery debut from a stiff enough mark. Check market, but looks up against it.

Peak effort was when winning an Ayr nursery (5f, good) in August, from 2lb lower. Has found things tough since then and arrives with a bit to prove.

Went close in a Redcar seller (5f) for George Scott in May. Last of six when last seen later that month and changed hands for 3,500gns in July. Returns from six months off for stable/nursery debut and not ruled out if he can get back to his best.

Best two efforts have been on AW, one of them coming here last time when going close over C&D. Up 1lb for that, but capable of going close again with a repeat or better.

Was nearly 4L adrift of popping corks here last time (6f). 3lb lower today, so could close the gap, but improvement needed. Blinkers now tried.

Has looked moderate so far. Gelded since last seen in June, so may be able to improve now, but not easy to fancy him on what we have seen.

Took a step in the right direction on his AW debut at Chelmsford (6f) last time. Will need improvement from this mark, but would be interesting if backed.

Verdict

Very tame fayre here. Popping Corks is likely to be popular after winning last time and can again go well, but the suggestion is GEOGRAPHY TEACHER who has done better on the AW than on turf so far and after a good run here last time, he is taken to score. Clipsham Tiger would be of interest if supported, while WIllow Brook and Quicksilver might also get involved.
  1. Geography Teacher
  2. Popping Corks
  3. Willow Brook
