At the veteran stage of his career but has been running well from marks of 70-71. Went close off slightly higher here last week and 3-6 in this grade at this venue.
Landed a 6f AW maiden at Lingfield in 2017, and fourth in Listed company. Has struggled since but gets a nice pull with Kinglami on C&D running in June. 15lb out of the weights last time when passing horses late after getting tailed off.
Ran out a nice winner over this trip before getting going too late over a furlong further last time. Seemed unsuited by a slow tempo and got too far back and likely a fast run 6f will suit. Has form on soft so one for the shortlist.
Winner of 13 races who bolted up at Nottingham in June. Encountered trouble in running last time and, although she would not have won, certainly missed out on place money. Rider is effectively a capable rider who can claim so expect a big run.
Has shown some ability whilst also looking the sort who needed more than the mile he raced over when last seen a year ago. Hard to see him figuring over this trip following an absence.
Better efforts have come on AW. Nevertheless, he has form over C&D on a soft surface but his overall track record is 1-14 and two frame finishes so others look more likely.
Will have needed the run back from a 6 month break at Thirsk (6f, soft) last time out having made all to win at Brighton on her final start last year. Still 5lb above that last winning mark and others appeal more.
Opened his account in a class 7 contest (6f) at Lingfield in February. Has campaigned over various trips since, but today's suits him best. Handles soft ground, below that winning mark and champion jockey booked.
Forecasts
Charleston Belle (3/1), Kinglami (4/1), Major Assault (5/1), Just An Idea (6/1), Indian Affair (6/1), Whitecrest (6/1), Rebel Heart (14/1), Astone Man (16/1)
Kinglami and Whitecrest are veterans who have conditions to suit on a track where both have fared well. The latter has a highly praised claimer on board and that offsets the harsh rise she got following her latest victory. Charleston Belle got going too late in a slowly run race last time, but she is up in grade and her latest winning form has not been working out well. Major Assault has dropped below his winning mark and now has Silvestre De Sousa on board. JUST AN IDEA finished fourth in Listed company last year and it has taken time for his mark to recover. He looks better treated now, gets a handy pull with Kinglami and drops in class following an impossible task at Goodwood.
