Has won twice this year, breaking the course record at Kempton and winning at Chester at the May meeting. Not disgraced in a French Group 2 since and he's clearly well suited to a speed test, as seen when runner-up in this last year.
Group 3 winner at Chantilly as a three-year-old. Has only won once since, a Listed success at Ascot last year and he's been below par in two runs this campaign. Back down to a workable mark at least.
Winner of this race last year and has held his form well since. Just a shade below his best on his last couple of starts but he tends to run well at speed tracks and he has the ideal draw and a useful apprentice taking off 5lb here.
Not the most consistent sort, as seen when failing to back up a Newcastle win at Ascot last time out. Above his highest winning mark here and with plenty of pace in the high stalls, he may be left isolated from this draw.
Doesn't win often of late but he's a C&D winner dangerously well-handicapped on old form. Versatile from a conditions perspective and he will be doing his best work in the finish; not ruled out if he gets some luck in running.
On a career high mark after his win at Epsom last time out and looks vulnerable back down at this trip in a deeper race.
C&D winner in May, recording a fifth course success in the process. Only narrowly denied in the Dash at Epsom last time and looks like a leading contender here off the same mark, particularly if we get any rain.
Won this race in 2016 and won next time out at York but he's been on a long losing run since. Too well-handicapped to ignore his claims and he's likely to pop up in a race like this before long but he hasn't got away on terms on his last few starts.
Very consistent sort in terms of getting in to the places but he's only won once in his last 44 starts. Ran okay in this race last year from a 9lb higher mark but his other runs here have been below form and others make more appeal.
Runner-up to El Astronaute at York but hasn't been able to build on that promise in three runs since. There's still a suspicion he's well handicapped but draw unlikely to be ideal here and others preferred.
Her best form has come with plenty of cut in the ground, as seen when winning at Bath (5½f, heavy) on seasonal return. Whether she wants a speed test such as this certainly up for debate though and can only be of interest if there's plenty of rain.
Got his head back in front at York over 6f last time but has never won a handicap from a mark this high and he probably wants a little more of a stamina test than this.
On a long losing run since his maiden win on AW at Lingfield. Hard to imagine he can be competitive from more than a stone out of the weights here and readily opposed. Wears first-time blinkers.

The winner and runner-up from last year's renewal of this contest re-oppose here and it's A MOMENTOFMADNESS who is taken to reverse the form with El Astronaute. Charlie Hills' gelding has been in good form this campaign and a return to a fast five furlongs may see him get his head back in front. El Astronaute has rock solid claims again and he will benefit from his talented apprentice taking 5lb off his back. Pettochside should get a nice toe into the race and makes most appeal from the remainder, particularly if the ground gets soft.
