First-time cheekpieces for this return to turf on ground quicker than he's tried before. Drop in trip not expected to be an issue but still a maiden and beginning to look exposed. This lacks strength-in-depth and may be within his compass.
Dangerously well handicapped but is on a long losing run and looks opposable over what may be a stamina-sapping trip for him.
Not shown much promise in four previous starts (last of 12 over 1m here latest was particularly uninspiring). Makes very limited appeal in her first start in a handicap.
Penultimate start over C&D reads respectably but has disappointed since and arrives with a bit to prove. Better ground and making her first start since undergoing wind surgery, so worth a betting check nonetheless.
Set to race from 9lb below her last win on turf but has been out of form lately and has never quite managed to get her head in front over this trip. Others preferred.
Snippets of past form would give the gelding place claims if it could be guaranteed he's going to run to his best. However, he's a long-standing maiden and is probably best watched on this first start back after wind surgery.
Posted a poor effort over C&D when debuting for his current yard last time out. Big improvement required.
Posted only modest efforts in three maidens so far and very hard to see where the requisite improvement will come from now he goes handicapping. Best watched.
Yard generally does well with this type of horse but this fellow makes limited appeal over this trip after posting three moderate efforts at Yarmouth over the last month.
Modest form so far and surprisingly struggled when upped in trip last time out. Plenty to prove just now and a leap of faith required in supporting her bid to lose her maiden status a the sixth-time of asking.
Unexpected win (33/1) over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last month but showed a good attitude to hold on near the finish. Debatable whether this longer trip and switch to turf will be ideal, despite being just 3lb higher.
Third in a modest race over C&D last time out, which was her first attempt at this distance. The betting can guide as to expectations of a repeat bid to make the frame.
Forecasts
Casemates Square (13/8), Academician (4/1), Dark Side Jazz (13/2), Just Right (8/1), Pammi (10/1), All About The Pace (12/1), Solveig's Song (14/1), Clearance (20/1), Chorus Of Lies (25/1), Thama (25/1), Peak Storm (33/1), Lady Maritime (50/1)
A chance is taken that CASEMATES SQUARE can capitalise on this slight ease in grade and drop in trip. All About The Pace needs to bounce back from a poor run last time out but does have C&D form which suggests she could be a player for a place in a weak event such as this. Similar comments apply to Pammi and Thama, who are forwarded as speculative options to scrap it out for a place in the frame.
