Ran well in a couple of maiden races at two but generally disappointing including over this trip at Lingfield last time out. Improvement called for back on turf.

Related to middle-distance winners so should take to this test and didn't run badly off a short break over 1m2f here last month when finishing 3½L fifth of 12 from this mark.

First start since wind operation over 1m2f here last month, setting the pace before fading to finish sixth of 12. Gets to race from 3lb lower now upped in distance.

Has plenty of experience in handicap company, but is yet to win on turf and is still to wholly convince in terms of his stamina reserves over 1m4f. Hard to enthuse despite falling mark.

Holy Roman Emperor cost 240,000 gns as a yearling, hasn't shown much in a trio of starts so far over 1m2f, slips into handicap company for the first time needing considerable improvement.

Just the one strong effort from five in juvenile campaign, coming on good to firm over 7f at this track. Entitled to have needed reappearance at Leicester (1m2f, good to firm) but must improve on best form regardless.

Learning with his racing, best effort to date when 1L second of six over 1m6f at Bath this month, when not having a clear run at crucial stage. Bumped up 6lb on that effort, entitled to be in firing line again nonetheless.

Should be capable of competing off this mark on the pick of his 2017 form, but much less encouraging this calendar year and the hood applied last time brought only nominal improvement. 0/13 career.

Six-race maiden on the AW so far, does drop to new low in ratings for turf bow with cheekpieces added first time.

Cape Cross filly, cost €58,000 as a yearling. Has shown some ability but raced too freely at times. Better over C&D last time, keen again, and entitled to claims in this field.

Forecasts

Cross My Mind (9/4), Acquirer (7/2), Font Vert (4/1), Golden Image (10/1), Sherzy Boy (10/1), King of Burgundy (12/1), Atomic Jack (14/1), General Zoff (20/1), Dubai Landmark (20/1), Genuinely Crowded (33/1), Rainbow Jazz (33/1)

Verdict

ACQUIRER showed improved form when tackling a staying trip for the first time at Bath recently and, despite being nudged up 6lb, has scope to defy a mark like this over this sort of trip judged on that run. He looks capable for Richard Hughes. The main danger may be Cross My Mind, who tends to race a bit freely but did make more of a fist of it last time over C&D. Golden Image and Atomic Jack can also be given their claims.
