Despite being beaten at short odds on his last two starts after a winning debut he's still of interest especially as he was given a bit too much to do last time. Given his promising debut he's well up to winning a race like this on his return.
Third foal (cost 105,000 guineas as a yearling); half-brother to 1m2f winner Third Rock with the dam a winner over a mile. Makes his debut here and worth watching in the market given his connections.
Really caught the eye over C&D recently building on his debut promise shown late last year over a mile. Not given a hard time at all but still travelled well and almost snatched third; needs one more run for a mark and of interest here.
First foal by Speightstown with the dam a winner at up to 1m2f including a Grade 2 win in Canada and there are other winners on the distaff side of the pedigree. Might just need this though and better expected in the future.
Hardly comes with a cheap price tag (200,000 guineas foal) and has a very likeable pedigree; brother to a useful 7f winner in Misterioso. Closely related to several other winners and it won't be a surprise to see him take a positive role on debut.
Both turf runs in the autumn hinted that he had ability but still needed more experience and hinted that he will do better in time. The mile trip on the second occasion looked too much of a test and this return to 7f will suit far better.
On pedigree he made plenty of appeal on his debut over C&D (only started at 4/1) but he might not have delivered as much as the market suggested he would. Given a considerate introduction he lacked initial sharpness but will improve for that run.
Just the one run to his name so far when starting at a big price (28/1) relative to his pedigree and connections when finishing 5th on his debut last autumn over 7f. Ran green on that occasion and finished with something left; plenty more to come.
From a yard not known for this type of runner he's a half-brother to several winners including the useful Multi Bene (winner at up to a mile) and Mr Adjudicator. Could well need this experience and likely to be one featuring at bigger odds here.
Campaigned at a lower level than this mainly as a juvenile she looked a little outclassed when returning at this level recently. A 25/1 shot on that occasions she steps up to 7f here but looks to have a tough task again.
Given a couple of starts late last year she ran to a similar level on both occasions over 6f once each on turf and AW. Given her connections she remains open to improvement but may just need this after a break; steps up to 7f.
Badly in need of the experience in her one race for Richard Hughes last year she showed very little in first-time cheekpieces for her new yard in an AW claimer over 7f. Not really expected to be up to this class; better in low-grade handicaps.

Major Partnership (15/8), Il Primo Sole (5/2), Tahreek (11/4), Gilded Hour (12/1), Bold Warrior (14/1), Hombre Casado (16/1), Pivotal Man (25/1), Mainsail Atlantic (25/1), Acquirer (25/1), Para Mio (50/1), Vlannon (100/1), Formiga (100/1), Travellers Joy (200/1)
A deep first division of the novice stakes with several interesting candidates who have shaped well so far plus some well-bred debutantes like Major Partnership who is worth paying attention to in the market. Pivotal Man is likely to improve for his initial run where he still needed the experience and Tahreek certainly caught the eye when a big price for his debut last year and he now makes his return. Il Primo Sole is the only winner in the field having won at this level on his debut and despite his two “failures” since he’s still respected here. HOMBRE CASADO shaped like a winner in waiting last time though when not given a hard time and he’s expected to go close given that recent run.
- Hombre Casado
- Tahreek
- Il Primo Sole
