Back into handicaps after running in two Fibresand maidens on his last two starts and although he's run with credit and acts on this surface he's having a job getting things done. Now drops to a 0-55 off a career low mark but he does have a hint of attitude and a weak finish to cope with.

Well beaten in handicaps of late and her best run has come in a 7f turf seller at Leicester in October. Raced freely in a visor (retained here) last time out and will need to settle better on her first try on Fibresand back in a handicap.

Showed her first signs of life to score last time out springing a big surprise having started as a 100/1 chance with first-time blinkers obviously helping. Now 5lb higher and not sure to be in the same sort of form given her previous outings but deserves some respect.

Does looks rather exposed but it's hard to fault his two runs for this yard since joining from Conrad Allen. May well have been flattered in a maiden last time out and this will be his first try on this surface having been beaten off similar marks but worth a second glance.

Came back to life all of a sudden when taking an apprentice handicap off this mark last time out a Lingfield over a mile. No experience on this surface and the nature of the win last time are all negatives and may find it hard to follow up.

Yet to win a race and only showed a glimmer of form on his initial run here last time with the blinkers going on for the first time. Unproven over a mile and may be better suited by 7f but already well beaten in two handicaps although now drops to a career low mark.

Showed on his handicap debut here off a 3lb higher mark that he handles this track but looked unsuited by the 6f trip. Only had two outing since (looked rusty both times after breaks) and may do better now over this 7f trip with a recent run behind him.

His form so far can only be described as modest at best (beaten twice on turf off this mark) and now back into handicaps after three recent attempts in maidens. This will be his debut on this surface (sire has a modest record here) and others preferred.

Lightly raced of late (only two runs since the summer) and has finished well held on both of those outings. Now makes his Fibresand debut (by a sire who has had plenty of success here) but on recent form is hard to recommend.

Still a maiden after 13 starts and can only be said to have run as well as could be expected of late merely staying on in maiden over 6f here last time. May do better over this longer trip but essentially looks a limited sort.

Given a long break before returning for two quick outings here earlier in the month his first experience of this surface. Showed little on either occasions the second in first-time cheekpieces that are retained here.

Forecasts

Bo Selecta (4/1), Ronni Layne (9/2), Tilly Devine (5/1), Stringybark Creek (11/2), Compton Brave (8/1), Princess Way (10/1), Harvest Ranger (10/1), New Tale (16/1), Ejabah (16/1), Red Douglas (25/1), Tink (50/1)

Verdict

Bargain basement stuff with very few if any solid propositions in the field. Bo Selecta has been running consistently but always appears to find one to beat him and his finishing effort has looked a little weak. Tilly Devine led for most of the journey here last time to score a surprise win and unlike many in this she has at least proved herself capable of winning and has to be respected in this lowly grade. Stringybark Creek is another surprise last time out winner but he has no experience on Fibresand and may find it tough to win again. HARVEST RANGER may be worth chancing here he may well be better over this trip and should now strip fitter with two recent runs behind him. Ronni Layne hasn’t looked any great shakes so far but his last two outings have shown something and if he handles this surface he could go close having looked to show a little improvement of late for his new yard.
  1. Harvest Ranger
  2. Tilly Devine
  3. Ronni Layne
