Notable improvement in second start when winning a similar event over 1m at Lingfield by a short-head. Will need to improve further to defy 7lb penalty but should go well.
Sunday Break newcomer cost €38,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to six winners including a French Group One winner over 1m. Trainer had just one two-year old winner and that not on debut so best watched here.
Holy Roman Emperor newcomer out of a 7f two-year old winner. Trainer in good form but debutants tend to need the run so barring market support is best watched.
Helmet newcomer is a half-brother to winners over 7f and 6f-1m. Trainer's record with two-year olds only average and draw a major negative.
Half-brother to a 1m winner and a 6f AW winner by top up and coming sire Nathaniel (sire of Enable). May need further and trainer's debutants tend to need the run but worth watching for the future.
66/1 and in rear throughout when 10th of 13 on debut here three weeks ago (Tribal Warrior sixth). Difficult to find much encouragement in that run.
Mayson newcomer is a half-brother to three winners at up to 1m. Trainer's strike rate with two-year olds suggest this one unlikely to play leading role first time up.
50,000 gns yearling by Jukebox Jury is half brother to a 1m2f-1m4f Group Three winner and a German 1000 Guineas winner. Trainer's newcomers often need the run and this one likely one for middle distances.
15,000 gns newcomer by Nathaniel. Dam won at up to 1m2f so expecting him to need further and trainer 0-29 with AW two-year olds in last five years.
Raven's Pass colt was disappointing given powerful connections when last on debut but there were excuses. Given a bit of time since and blinkers are added here so much better effort expected.
Sixth on debut saw him beaten just 4L over 7f here. In touch at furlong pole but weakened from there. Pedigree suggests 1m plus should be no issue so expecting big run here.
3¼L fifth on the Rowley Mile last month a most promising effort particularly given he showed signs of greenness. Fourth in that race won since and he looks a leading player today.
Pleasing debut at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago where she ran fourth despite being short of room in the home straight. Open to improvement so has possibilities here although the draw is an issue.
Beat just one home on debut here over 1m2f a couple of weeks ago and 150/1 odds suggested little more was expected. Can't fancy her.
Forecasts
Tum Tum (6/4), Rusper (7/2), Sovereign Duke (7/1), Stylehunter (9/1), Tribal Warrior (10/1), Mayer (10/1), Dorella (20/1), Holy Shambles (25/1), French Cricket (40/1), Sod's Law (50/1), Storm Again (66/1), Ragstone Ridge (66/1), Kevlar (100/1), Singer In The Sand (200/1)
The form of TUM TUM was boosted by the colt who finished one place ahead of him on debut at Newmarket and he looked like a likely improver himself that day so everything points to him taking some beating today. Tribal Warrior appears one of the main dangers after a most pleasing debut here and he has no fewer than 10 winners as siblings. Things didn't go to plan on debut for Stylehunter but we can expect a much improved effort today from John Gosden's charge.
- Tum Tum
- Tribal Warrior
- Stylehunter
