Good effort on his penultimate start puts him in the picture for a place in the frame at least. Not the most consistent individual though and has never won from a mark this high before.

Still a maiden but only had seven starts so far and possible there is more to come from her. Drop in trip may help, so worth a check in the betting.

Yet to win a race and best form has been around a mile. Struggled when tried this far previously and plenty to prove on recent evidence.

Shown a liking for the turf at Lingfield but latest effort when tried at Brighton suggested he may well have his own ideas just now. Needs to banish the memory of that slightly lax effort before he can be considered again.

Blitzed the field in an apprentices handicap at Newcastle latest and highly respected on that effort alone. Unpenalised for that runaway win, the gelding may well have plenty more to offer from what has already proved to be a very lenient mark.

Yet to win beyond 1m2f and needs a bit of luck on her side despite her being 5lb lower than her last winning mark. Others preferred.

Good effort latest over C&D (likes of Spiritofedinburgh held on that form) but stamina ebbed in the closing stages and may be vulnerable again here. Feasible chance though from just 2lb higher than her last winning mark.

Already beaten when the saddle slipped over C&D latest and others look more convincing over this trip.

Solitary win came in a Lingfield seller and has subsequently found life a lot tougher under her revised mark. Now dropped 2lb but still faces a very stiff test on these terms.

Another with bits and pieces of decent course form to his name but been struggling to make an impact of late and likely a bit-part player once more here.

Lightly raced but poor form up to press and the first-time visor needs to prompt a big amount of improvement from the filly.

Verdict

Hard to escape the fact that CHAMPAGNE RULES was highly impressive when winning a lads race on the tapeta at Newcastle last time out. Set to race from the same mark, the gelding could easily brush this lot aside if in the same frame of mind today. Bermondsey Belle ran well last time out and appeals over this shorter trip, while Howardian Hills also arrives after a confidence boosting solid effort and can make the frame if striding out with purpose.
