Failed to beat a rival over 7½f at Beverley last time, but had previously run really well to finish second of nine at Newmarket. A repeat of that display off 1lb higher would give him a chance on ground he handles.
Veteran of 117 races, 12 of which he has won. Was in sparkling form when landing a hat-trick in May, but not quite at the same level now and would probably prefer better ground. Respected, though.
Was in good form in August, winning twice, but has found life tougher off higher marks. Falling back down the weights and handles cut in the ground, but may have done his winning for the time being.
Has been running consistently well, including when second on latest outing in first-time cheekpieces. The headgear is retained and he has a solid chance off the same handicap mark.
Won twice last year when trainer by George Baker, but has failed to reach the frame in thee starts for current trainer and is now 11lb lower than for the first of them. Would probably prefer a sounder surface.
Has six wins on his CV, four on turf, but has been out of sorts on his last four starts. Last victory was achieved almost two years ago and although the handicapper has given him a chance, others have stronger claims.
Has been kept busy during his career and wins in his turn, usually on AW surfaces. Last victory came at Southwell in April, and latest effort back on turf at Nottingham suggests he is up against it.
Still looking for his first win after 10 runs, but has been knocking on the door in recent starts and lost out close home at Redcar last time. Only 1lb higher and looks to have every chance.
Finished some way adrift of Rapid Ranger at Redcar on latest start and seems more effective on the AW these days. Needs to take a step forward to get involved.
Experienced campaigner who was in decent form early this year, but has not been at the same level on recent outings. Handles cut in the ground, but is opposed despite a falling handicap mark

Forecasts
Metisian (15/8), Rapid Ranger (3/1), Desperados Destiny (5/1), General Alexander (8/1), Bogsnog (8/1), Whitecrest (10/1), Commanche (11/1), Borough Boy (16/1), Peachey Carnehan (16/1), Secret Missile (33/1), Drop Kick Murphi (50/1)
General Alexander would be of interest if returning to the form of his Newmarket second, while Desperados Destiny is coming to the boil and should be in the mix. Metisian is another with strong claims, but it may be worth giving another chance to RAPID RANGER, who went close last time and surely has a race of this nature in him.
