Much improved on the Fibresand surface in the April and a winner in better grade than this on last start on the surface. Not in any great form on turf but return to the and might spark him back into life. Nicely drawn and definite chances.
Winner on this surface here in January but that was over 5f, and most of his better recent form comes at that trip. May go well back on the Fibresand as he's not badly drawn here, but may find others stronger in the closing stages.
1-1 over this C&D when a decisive winner here in May, making all and staying on strongly. Mainly solid efforts since then and given he looked a natural on the surface, every chance of more improvement back on it. Could be hard to catch.
Hasn't shown much in three starts to date and drops back to a sprinting trip after not getting home at Newmarket over a mile (led, faded). Good jockey booking and pedigree offers hope that he may go on the surface, but clearly risky.
Untested on the surface and current form taken a bit of a nosedive after his win at Nottingham earlier in the month. Quick reappearance after finishing well beaten at Hamilton on Saturday and plenty to prove here.
Has had a couple of tries on the surface and seems to handle it fine, never nearer fourth when last seen here over 6f last December. Couple of runs this season suggests the ability is still there so could bounce back for yard that do very well here.
Has a win and three places to his name on the surface, likes to lead and currently in good form after a Thirsk win and third at Haydock. Has a bit on at these weights but nicely drawn to attack and can't be totally ruled out.
One try on the surface here saw her finish tailed off, and she seems happier on the quicker sand surfaces, so that is a concern. In decent form at the moment and good jockey booked, but yard having few winners this year and others preferred on that.
The biggest concern with her is that her two starts on the Fibresand have revealed very little, finishing last on one and well beaten on the other. In no form to speak of either and others readily preferred.
Form has improved a little on her last two starts and she almost nicked one at Beverley in July, getting chinned on the line. Trip is the main worry as her best form comes at 5f and on that, she's passed over today.
Forecasts
Tricky Dicky (6/4), Treaty Of Rome (9/2), Interlink (11/2), The Big Lad (6/1), Lexington Sky (11/1), Danish Duke (14/1), Just Surprise Me (20/1), Sarabi (25/1), Nag's Wag (33/1), Krystallite (66/1)
Danish Duke and TRICKY DICKY look likely to make this a solid test from the outset and preference is for Olly Williams' 4-y-o, a good winner here in May and possibly a bit more adaptable as far as the tactics go than Danish Duke, who likes to make all. Treaty Of Rome will be happier back on the sand after a few below-par efforts on turf and he has the class to pose the biggest danger to the selection. Both Interlink and Just Surprise Me need a market check.
- Tricky Dicky
- Treaty Of Rome
- Danish Duke
