25/1
January foal out of a dam who was of little account but who was a sister to the high-class 1m1f winner Ali-Royal. Yard's juveniles boast a 20%+ strike-rate on turf this season, so positive market vibes would make her interesting.

Horse silk
20/1
March foal who is a half-sister to two juvenile winners, including the Listed scorer Rosay. Cost 115,000 guineas as a yearling and her precocious pedigree entitles her to a degree of respect first time out.

33/1
January foal. By Medicean out of a dam who was a half-sister to the smart 7f winner, Endless Light. One of two stable newcomers in this, market obviously the best guide.

Horse silk
16/1
March foal by Dansil out of a Listed winner who won at two. Plenty to like on paper but interesting to see how she fares in the market, given that jockey booking is not an obvious pointer to her chances.

Horse silk
40/1
May foal by Exceed And Excel out of a dam who won between 1m and 1m4f. Breeding suggests she will improve with time and distance.

Horse silk
7/4
January foal by Dubawi out of a precocious, 5f-winning dam who went on to finish third in the 2000 Guineas over 1m. Yard has a good strike-rate with newcomers and she has to figure high on any shortlist.

Horse silk
6/4
March foal. By Kyllachy out of a 1m winning dam. Half-sister to the useful 1m winner Belvoir Bay. Recently changed hands for 230,000 guineas, having cost significantly less as a foal. Yard's newcomers always merit respect and stable won this last year with a subsequent Group 1 winner.

Horse silk
15/2
April foal. By Teofillo out of a dam who won up to 1m, including over 7f as a juvenile. Cost 210,000 guineas and hails from an in-form yard fully adept at readying newcomers. Jockey has a 35% strike-rate for the yard this season - one to note.

Peace Trail (6/4), Nawassi (7/4), Admired (7/2), Simple Thought (15/2), Vitamin (14/1), Juliet Foxtrot (16/1), Trinity Square (16/1), Clairette (20/1), Altyn Orda (25/1), Gilded Heaven (33/1), Late Change (40/1)

Verdict

Charlie Appleby used this maiden 12 months ago as the springboard for subsequent Group 1 winner Wuheida and he saddles another likely type in the shape of PEACE TRAIL. With the yard still going great guns with their juveniles, the 230,000 guineas purchase looks the percentage call in an all-newcomer event, though there is also plenty to like about Nawassi, Simple Thought and Admired on paper.
