Has her first run for this yard having won a claimer over C&D last time out with some give in the ground. Looked to show some improvement there for all the race might have fallen apart a little and this will tell us more.

Certainly wasn't a cheap purchase as he cost 200,000 as a yearling but his form so far has only been of a modest nature. Given a break before his nursery debut he looked open to some progress but failed to show any and is still searching for his best form and drops in grade again here with the blinkers going on for the first time.

Her one try in a maiden over this trip was probably her best race (ridden too aggressively) and should have been suited by a move back to 5f last time out. Failed to show any improvement though and 6f on testing ground may not be what she wants for her handicap debut.

Did at least show more on his handicap debut at Brighton over 5f recently despite taking a keen hold but doing nothing suggest he was ahead of this mark. Makes a quick return to the track here in an easier grade but back on far softer ground which leaves a question mark against him here.

Appears to have regressed from a debut that looked promising enough on the AW over 5f at Wolverhampton. Well held on his handicap debut last time off a 2lb higher mark and a furlong further trip is now tried to illicit some improvement.

Progress has only been gradual through his maiden runs but he shaped well on soft ground over 6f at Salisbury last time and always looked as though nurseries would see him in a better light. He gets his chance here in similar conditions and off a fairly lowly mark looks to have a decent chance.

Gelded for his last run and returning from a break he showed that there was some ability there over 6f on heavy at Newbury so conditions won't be a problem. The form of that race has been franked and with blinkers on for the first time it won't be a surprise to see him take a step forward on his handicap debut.

Already had a try in handicaps and showed some progress for the switch to this sphere although she will need to show a little more to take one of these. The cheekpieces go on for the first time here in a bid to eke out some more improvement.

One of the most experienced in the field but it took time for connections to switch him to nurseries having his first try in this sphere last time out when taking the runner-up slot. That was his best run so far and he may well be able to take a hand here off a 2lb higher mark.

Make her debut in handicap company after running in sellers and claimers on the last two occasions. Both those runs were poor and even this mark of 53 looks to overplay her ability.

Unusual for one from this yard to be seen in such lowly company and hard to say that she deserves a higher mark on what she's done so far in three runs. Quite possibly capable of a little better though making her handicap debut and given her connections well worth watching in the market.

Forecasts

Atalanta Queen (7/2), Rock On Bertie (9/2), Global Exceed (5/1), Hope And Glory (8/1), Erastus (8/1), Fusion Central (10/1), Spot Lite (10/1), Princess Lyla (12/1), Silver Bullet (12/1), Data Protection (14/1), Manco Inca (20/1), Cranworth Phoenix (25/1)

Verdict

A fairly open and competitive if low-grade nursery where a few will fancy their chances of winning with Spot Lite looking to be one who is capable of taking a step forward here. Manco Inca is another who with the headgear going on for the first time can make a more forward showing with Hope And Glory another to don the headgear to find some improvement. This run should tell us a lot more about Atalanta Queen with Fusion Central worth a check in the market. ROCK ON BERTIE has plenty of experience but he ran well last time and if he can build on that he’s worth siding with here.
  1. Rock On Bertie
  2. Spot Lite
  3. Manco Inca
