Has been in his best form for some time so far this year, having won at Kempton in February and gone close on a number of occasions recently. Needs to find more when considering his handicap rating, but comes into this in better form than most.
Off the mark at Chelmsford in December (7f, standard), but that looked a very weak race and she needs to take her form to a new level to be competitive here.
Not at his best so far this year, but is on an attractive handicap mark as a result and has run some solid races recently; potentially worth considering.
Sole victory to date came in a maiden handicap in June 2015, and he's left with plenty to prove here, despite some fair recent efforts.
No win since February 2013 and has never won at all on turf, and has been lightly raced enough over the past couple of season to suggest that he has had his issues in training; one to avoid.
Sole win to date came for another trainer in September 2015, but some of his recent efforts have been more encouraging, and though he's somewhat inconsistent, he is capable of hitting the frame.
Close second at Chepstow last time was a career best, and though he possibly wants faster ground than this he is still entitled to be a big player here off an unchanged mark.
Won a maiden over shorter at this course, but not at her best recently despite a lowering handicap mark, and has failed to get involved in three starts so far this season.
C&D winner who won't mind the conditions here, but has been below-par so far this season and needs to return to his best level from last year.
Remains a maiden, but has run some perfectly respectable races, including when only just denied at Brighton two starts ago. Not quite so good at Nottingham last time but still respected off his current mark.
Would be easily good enough to get involved in a race of this nature on her best form, but hasn't been at that level recently and has something to prove now.
Yet to really make an impression in any of her races, either in Britain or when trained in Ireland. Slightly better last time at Chelmsford (7f, standard), and the step back up to 1m here shouldn't be an issue.
Only moderate performances in three maidens so far and unlikely to be able to defy his opening mark on this stable and handicap debut.
Consistent sort who has finished in the first four in each of his last six starts. Hasn't been given much assistance by the handicapper as a result, but may not need it in this potentially easier contest.
Forecasts
Chough (5/1), Topmeup (11/2), Delirium (11/2), Zaria (6/1), Imperial Link (9/1), Mowhoob (9/1), Captain Marmalade (10/1), Edge (12/1), Altaira (14/1), Lady Morel (16/1), Turaathy (25/1), Red Dragon (28/1), Hi Milady (33/1), Hoover Fever (100/1)
If he’s not foiled by cut in the ground, then this can go to DELIRIUM. Ed De Giles’ gelding ran a great race at Chepstow last time out and remains on the same mark now. Having finished a very close second on that occasion and potentially with further improvement to come in handicaps, he is taken to see off the consistent pair of Topmeup and Mowhoob, with the former preferred of these mainly due to their respective weights.
- Delirium
- Topmeup
- Mowhoob
