A Chelmsford maiden in May 2015 remains his only win to date, but he has been running well enough recently to suggest that another victory could be forthcoming, including when second at Newbury two starts ago.
Not quite so good so far this year, particularly when running very poorly at Bath last time with no obvious excuses. Needs to bounce back from that, but could get involved if returning to his best form from last year.
Winner at Lingfield last time (6f, soft), with her only other career win to date also having come on that course (on the all-weather track). Strong claims up 3lb is able to be as effective at this course.
Landed a hat-trick in May and has run some creditable races since; now back down to the most recent of those winning handicap marks and she also has previous form at this course.
Yet to register a win on turf, having done most of his racing on the all-weather, and needs to prove he can be as effective on this surface, having run almost all his better races on synthetic ground.
Winner at Brighton in May, not quite as good since but return to 6f will help, and he is now only 4lb higher in the weights, so a big run is very possible.
Winner over this trip at Chepstow in September, but not at his best year, including on a couple of occasions in claiming company. Needs to prove he's still up to races of this nature.
Much better at Bath last time having been a little inconsistent since a maiden victory at Lingfield last summer. Has been dropped another 1lb for this and would go close on her better form.
Sole win to date came over this trip in a novice event at Chepstow; hasn't been able to run to that level since but must surely be able to make use of a decreasing handicap mark. Cheek pieces applied here.
Two career wins to date have come on Lingfield's Polytrack, and didn't show enough at Bath last time to suggest that he should be on the shortlist for this.
Forecasts
Monteamiata (5/2), Field of Vision (9/2), Miss Icon (11/2), Hedging (6/1), Otomo (10/1), Whitecrest (12/1), Wild Dancer (12/1), Vincentti (14/1), Evening Starlight (20/1), Bridge Builder (33/1)
Though easily both the oldest and most experienced horse in the field, WHITECREST showed she could still do it when collecting a hat-trick over this trip in May, and has been running consistently and better than her form figures since. She can be effective off her current mark and with ground to suit she is taken to put her experience to good use. Others to consider are Monteamiatia, who has been in fair form recently, and top weight Field of Vision.
- Whitecrest
- Monteamiata
- Field of Vision
