Form looked to be progressive in maidens over steadily increasing distances justifying favouritism on his penultimate run at Nottingham to break his maiden. Looked as though he would be suited by the 1m4f trip on his handicap debut at Chester but the track and pace of the race appeared to unsettle him. May have raced too freely last time and worth another chance here back over shorter.

Left his maiden form way behind when scoring on his handicap debut at Goodwood in May over 1m1f when he looked value for more than the eventual winning margin. Didn't quite get the same run of the race there last time out and is probably better than his final position and remains on the up and one to be interested in.

Winner of an AW maiden over a mile in December when 3/1f he was well held on his seasonal return/handicap debut at Windsor but should be excused that run. Badly hampered before halfway he could never recover and remains open to improvement and should be respected here.

Four of his last five races have ended with him putting a "1" in the form column with the first of his wins coming off 57 (over a mile) and the last off 76 over the same trip with three wins coming at Windsor. Nudged up just 2lb for his last win he's shown a propensity to battle and his attitude will make him a danger still here.

Had very much caught the eye on her third and final maiden start at Newmarket in April over a mile when finishing with running left and given far too much to do. That improvement was carried over into a win on her handicap debut (looked suited by 1m2f trip) although she couldn't follow that up last time she still looks unexposed off this mark.

Blinkers go on for the first time after some disappointing efforts in handicaps failing to progress from his Bath maiden win. Mark still looks on the stiff side and others have better chances here.

Made progress in maidens and looked even better when striking on his handicap debut at Windsor over a mile. Failed to follow-up under a penalty but looked to struggle after a poor start and never got involved.

Took eight attempts to get off the mark and did so in a Redcar mile handicap off 62 and followed-up on the next run when winning over this trip at Ripon off a 3lb higher mark. Ran one decent race after that in a Windsor handicap but ran very poorly last time out at the same venue and very hard to recommend him here.

Forecasts

Eynhallow (13/8), Okool (3/1), Sir Plato (7/1), Buzz (8/1), Rita's Man (11/1), Mouille Point (11/1), Haulani (12/1), Chance To Dream (14/1), International Law (20/1)

Verdict

Some likeable types in this that could well progress in the future and Sir Plato has already been in terrific form this year winning four handicaps although he may just have met his match here. Mouille Point very much needs respecting as does Okool who may well be better suited by this more galloping course and likely better pace. EYNHALLOW could well prove the most progressive here though having scored on his handicap debut and looking rather unlucky not to have been able to follow up on that victory last time out at the same course.
  1. Eynhallow
  2. Mouille Point
  3. Sir Plato
