Just one win from 15 starts but consistency means the handicapper is reluctant to relent. Ran his usual sound race when fourth at Ascot last time, but remains high enough in the weights and first-time cheekpieces will need to eke out improvment.
Has a decent strike rate of five wins from 17 runs on the AW, but four of those wins came back in 2014. Won a 7f seller at this track in November, but last two starts have been disappointing and he has questions to answer.
Much better on the AW than turf and boasts a good record of four wins from ten starts on artificial surfaces - three at Southwell and one at this course. Ran well at this venue to be fourth of ten two starts ago and poor run at Newcastle last time can be forgiven. May need to drop a few pounds, however.
Has had plenty of racing, but it's quite a long time since he won and his handicap mark has come down accordingly. Finished one place behind Hammer Gun last time and has not done enough to suggest he is about to strike.
Has not won in 19 attempts for his current stable and recent efforts have provided little encouragement that he is about to put that right. Handicap mark has plummeted, but signs of a revival are needed for him to appeal as a betting proposition.
Won over C&D, and for the second time at this course, three starts ago, but latest efforts at Yarmouth and Windsor were not quite so productive. The return to this track is a positive and he is only 4lb higher than for his last success so has to be considered.
All three of his wins have come on the AW and three runs after a gelding operation over the winter have seen him run creditably twice before winning at Kempton last time. Very much a player off a 3lb higher mark.
Promise on first two starts before getting off the mark at the third attempt at Lingfield. First venture into handicap company saw him scramble home by a head at Wolverhampton and he is up 6lb, but he is likely to make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick.
Looked to have a bright future when landing a Newmarket maiden in September, but has not been able to get his head in front since that win. First run after being gelded saw him finish 12th of 29 in the Britannia at Royal Ascot last time and that form alone gives him sound prospects in a much weaker contest.
Has been placed in all four starts, including in cheekpieces at Haydock last time. They are left off for this first venture into handicap company, while the switch to an AW surface should not be an issue given his promising debut at Newcastle. Respected.
Model of consistency who has won three times in eight starts for his current trainer. Took advantage of a lenient turf mark to bolt up at Thirsk last time, but has paid the price for that and reverts to the AW off a career-high mark. In such good heart that he has to be seriously considered.
Lightly-raced gelding who got off the mark over C&D last time when overcoming trouble in running. A 2lb rise seems lenient and, with improvement likely, he certainly enters the equation.

Mukalal (13/8), Mutarabby (4/1), Via Serendipity (9/2), Bold Prediction (11/1), North Creek (14/1), Wealth Tax (14/1), Kenstone (16/1), Hammer Gun (16/1), Pendo (16/1), Power Game (16/1), Bunbury (25/1), Unforgiving Minute (33/1), Beach Bar (66/1)
One or two improving sorts give this handicap a competitive look and the hat-trick-seeking Mukalal is high on the list of possible winners. Via Serendipity ran a decent race at Royal Ascot and will find these waters much calmer, while Mutarabby, North Creek, Pendo and Kenstone have plenty going for them. The selection, though, is WEALTH TAX, who overcame a troubled passage to win over C&D last time and has gone up only 2lb. He may rate a few pounds higher in due course.
