Still a maiden and in danger of becoming frustrating. Latest starts uninspiring; first-time in blinkers may help him focus more but stiff test on these terms others preferred.

Up 6lb for winning over 10f here last month but still respected. That was something of a bolt from the blue though and he does need to prove it wasn't just a one-off performance. Also something to find on first attempt over a mile.

Been a good while since his last win on turf but has been in good form on the AW tracks and arrives here in better heart than most. Acts on the ground and the trip not a problem. One for the shortlist in this company.

Still a maiden and possibly open to improvement over the trip. But didn't cover herself in glory on her first try over a mile; so probably safest to just takes notes this time around.

Three starts in maiden yielded little last year; gelded since but made no impression on return in handicap debut. The tongue tie fitted needs to help bring about a lot of improvement today.

Come down a long way in the ratings and is in danger of dropping off the map. No better than mid-division in each of his three starts for his new yard and may have to settle for the role of a 'bit-part' player on that evidence.

All three wins have been attained on the Polytrack at Kempton but quite well handicapped for this return to turf. However, never even made the frame in 8 previous 8 runs on grass and has plenty to prove.

A 23-race maiden and needs to pull something out of the hat pretty quickly. Would have claims on the form of his seasonal debut at Brighton but last two starts have been regressive. Other preferred.

Best effort for a while when fourth at Chelmsford last time out. That was a marked improvement on his previous run on turf at Yarmouth, which left a lot to be desired. Never excelled on this type of surface and a leap of faith is required in assuming he will hold his form today.

Never started a race at odds below 33/1 and her form figures have so far proved that the odds compilers have been spot-on. Two starts this season have been poor and hard to see the switch to turf bringing about the amount of improvement required.

All four of his career wins came during his time when based and trained in Ireland. Dropped to a very handy mark these days and hinted at something like a revival over 7f at Brighton last time out. Step up to a mile shouldn't be an issue in this modest company. One to bear in mind in a weak race.

Struggled badly in three maidens last year but debuts in a handicap from the most lenient of marks. Off since August and debuts for a new yard, so percentage call is to leave her to her own devices until she proves she may have more to offer.

Forecasts

Mamnoon (9/4), Mowhoob (4/1), Rocket Ronnie (5/1), Aye Aye Skipper (8/1), Cloud Nine (17/2), Fitzwilliam (10/1), Overhaugh Street (12/1), Rising Sunshine (12/1), Edge (14/1), Gavarnie Encore (16/1), Paca Punch (50/1), Max Beddow (50/1), Saxony (66/1)

Verdict

All of these have questions to answer and siding with MOWHOOB comes with alarm bells ringing. However, he has at least proved he retains enthusiasm and it's very possible that he will rise to the challenge now he is back on turf. Aye Aye Skipper runs off a featherweight and is worth a check in the betting, while Rocket Ronnie may not be the most reliable option but still appeals for a place in the frame at this level. Mamnoon is also respected but needs to prove himself capable over the trip.
  1. Mowhoob
  2. Aye Aye Skipper
  3. Rocket Ronnie
