Best recent turf run came here over 6f on his penultimate start (missed break last time out and run best forgotten). Looked a little bit unlucky on that last turf run and may well be able to bounce back here.

Much better judged on his runs before the last one when losing all chance at the start and has been running consistently on the AW off a slightly higher mark. Now back on turf for the first time since last August but it remains to be seen if he can make the most of a falling mark having not won on turf since 2013.

Generally runs well here and gained his only win to date here over a mile in a minor event in April. Showed what she can do with an easy lead when caught close home on the AW over a mile last time out and would be of interest with a soft lead here over a furlong shorter.

C&D winner last year off a mark of 65 he's run consistently since then without winning but had dropped in the handicap. Runs his best races when ridden prominently and should be able to handle both track and trip.

You have to go a fair way back to find the last win for this one although he put in his best run for some time at Salisbury last time out over 7f. Dropped a further 3lb here he would ideally be better suited by a mile.

Generally leads but can run very freely with the last win coming on the AW over 7f. Wasn't disgraced last time out in a claimer but may face competition for the lead here.

Yet to win a race and most of her recent form has come on the AW over 7f and a mile. Looks in good heart of late but may need a little more help from the handicapper.

Form can only be described as modest at best even her third on her penultimate start over a mile here. Ran way below form last time and more needed here.

Last three runs have come here over varying trips (1m4f the furthest) and has won twice at this course although the losing run is starting to stack up now. Decent enough run last time out over 1m2f and not sure if he'll be as effective back over a much shorter trip.

Well below form here last time out over this trip when he dwelt at the start and the blinkers go back on here in a bid to help. Losing run is getting longer though and even off a basement mark others are preferred.

Looked to be working his way back to form even off this lowly mark of late and did make some late headway over a mile here last time but his last win came back in 2015 and he couldn't be supported with confidence.

Forecasts

Live Dangerously (11/2), With Approval (11/2), Andalusite (11/2), Broughtons Fancy (11/2), Ettie Hart (6/1), Caledonian Gold (7/1), Locommotion (10/1), Rafaaf (14/1), Aye Aye Skipper (16/1), Noble Deed (20/1), Bold Max (20/1)

Verdict

A fairly low-key end to the card but a competitive contest nonetheless with quite a few being at home around this quirky course. Broughtons Fancy would be one who could well take a hand as could With Approval who has won over C&D. The trip may be a little on the short side for Live Dangerously with Caledonian Gold capable of taking a hand but ANDALUSITE has hit the frame on all three starts at this track and gained her only win here over a mile and she’s given the vote in the closing event on the card.
  1. Andalusite
  2. Caledonian Gold
  3. Broughtons Fancy
