Had plenty of chances in the past and not winning out of turn when winning a minor event at Brighton last time. Has had plenty of chances off lower marks in handicaps before and appreciated the test of stamina when winning last time in a strongly run race and might need that sort of contest again to show his best.
Slowly away and well held in a Yarmouth handicap last time over 7f when 33/1 and more needed here to trouble the principals.
Makes her handicap debut here after showing only poor form in a Yarmouth maiden last time out when starting at 40/1. Her mark doesn't look over generous and not an obvious improver.
Stepped up to 1m2f last time on his seasonal reappearance he ran well below the even modest form that he showed previously. Cheekpieces go on for the first time in a bid to find some improvement.
Down in trip and the blinkers go on for the first time after he was last of ten in a handicap last time and remains a maiden with his best effort coming over 7f.
His form in maidens was only modest and he offered very little making his handicap debut last time out when well held with his best effort coming over 6f.
Yard could not be in better form but he was well held last time out in a Leicester handicap and would need to return to some of his previous form to get involved here.
Winner on her penultimate start on the AW at Kempton over a mile off a 4lb lower mark she wasn't disgraced last time over a mile off this mark. Not totally ruled out.
Hardly looks a progressive sort and after showing only modest form in maidens she was well held on her handicap debut and looks as though she will be outclassed here.
Formerly with Richard Hannon as a juvenile she makes her debut for a new yard today after a fair absence. Could be given a chance on some of her nursery form if ready to go here off a mark of 56.
Well held in three maidens and started at 100/1 last time but given connections it would be no surprise to see him step forward on his handicap debut.
Another handicap debutante who looked to show better form last time out in a 7f turf maiden here and low-grade handicaps such as this one look her bag.
Has shown more in handicaps than she did in maidens (unsurprisingly) but still looks an awkward ride. She could win off this mark but her attitude may well hold her back and may need some headgear back on to show her best.

Forecasts
Av A Word (11/4), Epsom Secret (6/1), Mordoree (13/2), About Glory (7/1), Equal Rights (8/1), Nobleman (10/1), London Grammar (11/1), Primrose Place (14/1), Permanent (16/1), Mystical Nelly (16/1), Rakematiz (20/1), Caspian Gold (28/1), Ronni Layne (33/1), Ripper Street (100/1)
Just low-grade fare and quite a few of these have struggled to make their marks in handicaps already and progressive types are rather thin on the ground. If we got a strongly run race Av A Word would have a chance and if he settles so would Nobleman who you feel could be better than this mark if he proves more tractable. London Grammar isn’t totally ruled out of this and neither are About Glory and MORDOREE. They both have the same sort of profile with both looking to be better in handicaps and it’s the latter who has shown a little more so far.
- Mordoree
- About Glory
- Nobleman
