Won at Newmarket on debut last year before running well in Listed company and making a winning reappearance at Kempton in a conditions race last time. Going the right way and brings some of the best form into the race.

Has shown all his best form so far over this trip, winning at Newbury narrowly at 25/1 on his reappearance last time out, when first time cheek pieces seemed to do their job. Claims if defying a 5lb rise in the weights.

Developed into a nice handicapper during his two-year-old career and bids to continue his good form having gone down by just a neck at Chelmsford last time. 3lb higher now but could put his experience to good use.

Secured a hat-trick in the late part of last season before running creditably in defeat at Kempton in November. That has effectively ruined his handicap mark though, as he's now 21lb higher than his original mark, and another big step forward is required.

Makes his handicap debut here having gotten off the mark at Newmarket last time. Seems to be improving constantly, at a moderate pace and is well suited by this specialist trip. Opening mark may be a little high but he still rates a leading contender.

Doubled up at Wolverhampton last time having gotten off the mark the time before at Redcar, both over today's trip. More needed now and he's up 6lb, but he looks to be a progressive option.

Only narrowly beaten into fifth on his reappearance at Doncaster last time which wasn't a bad effort given this trainer's horses often come on for the run. Won a very valuable auction race at the back-end of last season and cannot be ruled out if his progression continues.

Behind Bacchus at Newbury in April, and is now only 1lb better off in the weights. Only career win so far was in a minor event at Lingfield for which he was 1/3 favourite, and he probably playing for a place here..

Slightly quirky sort who has already unseated, virtually refused to race and completely missed the break on separate occasions during his seven-race career. Has ability when he's in the mood but has run his best races over shorter.

Forecasts

Original Choice (10/3), Winning Ways (7/2), Khafoo Shememi (5/1), Jewel House (6/1), Rusumaat (8/1), Bacchus (8/1), Accidental Agent (8/1), Berkshire Boy (20/1), Mutahaady (33/1)

Verdict

The one who appeals most here is KHAFOO SHEMEMI, who has run some nice races including in Listed company during his short career so far and looks capable of better, even if he has to defy top weight here, with conditions sure to suit. Jewel House finally got off the mark last time and may have shaded preference if his opening mark had been a little lower but is still feared, ahead of Rusumaat, who ran several creditable races as a juvenile last year.
  1. Khafoo Shememi
  2. Jewel House
  3. Rusumaat
