Two runs on the Tapeta at Newcastle and makes his Fibresand debut here. Took a step back from his debut effort last time out and needs to get back to that first run to make an impression.

Half-brother to several winners and sire has produced progeny who have acted on this surface. Yard have yet to have a three-year-old winner first time out on this surface.

Shaped well in Lingfield mile maiden on debut running green early and finishing to good effect in a race where the form has been franked. Makes his second start on his first try on this surface but is by a sire who has a below par record on Fibresand.

Fourth foal and a half-sister to a mile winner Like A Prayer. Yard have yet to have a winner like this here and she is by a sire with a moderate record on the surface.

Most experienced in this field with nine runs under her belt (runner-up four times) and makes her debut on this surface. Not really bred for this surface and struggled when tried on a similar surface at Meydan on her last two starts.

Well-held in a pair of maidens, the second coming on this surface recently. Would need to make big strides forward to take a hand given her first two starts and others are much preferred.

Forecasts

Whosyourhousemate (8/11), Magical Forest (13/8), Testbourne (10/1), Lakeski (40/1), Billys Connoisseur (100/1), Melo Magic (200/1)

Verdict

Hard to be totally sure about any of these as there is virtually no form at all on this surface with the markets leaders looking far from convincing. Magical Forest has struggled on a dirt surface out in Dubai the last twice and that raises question marks about her acting on Fibresand. Whosyourhousemate shaped with promise on his debut and if he takes to the surface (not certain given his sire) he would have a decent chance of scoring. The most interesting contender though is TESTBOURNE who is bred to act on this surface and may well be worth chancing here with doubts about the main two in the market on Fibresand.
  1. Testbourne
  2. Whosyourhousemate
  3. Magical Forest
