Still a maiden who was upped to 7f last time out on handicap debut off a mark that looked a stiff one based on his maiden form. Dropped 2lb from that effort at Kempton Park but would need to take a step forward on his second handicap start.

Winner over 5f at Windsor on good to soft ground in June and gets his first try on an AW surface. Had three runs in nurseries as a two-year-old off higher marks than today but back from a break and a few of these may have a fitness edge.

Trainer won this race in 2012 with Lion Rock and this filly scored on her debut as a juvenile on Polytrack at Kempton Park making all over 5f. Her handicap mark looked fair based on early efforts but does have a bit to prove after her recent run at Southwell trying a new trip.

Still a maiden but has shown some good form in his last two starts at this course the last one over much further (1m2f). Drops back in trip this time around and one of the more likely types in a competitive handicap.

All four runs have come on the AW with the win in maiden company coming over C&D. Up in trip to a mile last time out on handicap debut here, she ran too free and the mark (runs off the same mark here) looked a tough one.

Yet to run as a three-year-old and still a maiden after five starts with just one of them coming on the AW at Wolverhampton on his last start. The blinkers are now added to the tongue-tie in an attempt to find some improvement.

Mostly modest form in maidens all on the AW and ran below that form on handicap debut last time out. Comes back to 7f now on second handicap start but would need to show a lot more to take a hand.

Showed modest form to win two nursery handicaps both at Kempton Park off lowly marks. Last three runs have been below that form and she looks vulnerable to less exposed sorts.

Forecasts

Mullarkey (9/4), Dark Destroyer (9/4), El Torito (11/4), Plato's Kode (5/1), Rapid Rise (6/1), Boater (15/2), Dragon Dream (12/1), Touch Me (20/1), Parisian Chic (33/1)

Verdict

This doesn’t look a strong handicap with DARK DESTROYER looking like the one who can improve and could still be well handicapped. Mullarkey is still a maiden and steps back in trip here to one that looks more suitable and he would have a chance based on his form so far. Boater should enjoy this surface better than the Fibresand she ran on last time out with El Torito and Rapid Rise coming from yards that do well on the AW. 1. Dark Destroyer 2. Mullarkey 3. Boater
